Tell that to Anne when she found out Hop Pop had the music box all along, and he decided to bury it because of how dangerous it was. It caused her to hold a grudge on him for a while until she forgave him.

It turns out that Andrais wasn't always an evil newt. His father, the previous king of Amphibia, tries to force his son into giving up his closes friends thinking they'll betray him. What made us feel bad for Andrais is that he was scared to stand up to his own dad. Thankfully, Andrais redeems himself and stands up to his father.
