There's not really that much CGI actually. In fact, they're pretty tame in compairison to most summer blockbusters of today, even the new Star Wars movie.

It was their chance to fix the franchise after the fan backlash over Episode I, and they ended up making a boring, uninteresting addition to the Star Wars franchise.
