In order to fight the D-Reaper, the tamers must bio-merge with their partners,but they can't do it in the real world. So the Digimon Sovereign sent Dobermon to give them the ability to bio-merge. However in order to do so Dobermon must sacrifice himself, witch is hard on his human partner to witness.
