They make the PlayStation, and spend more money to develop and build it by using proprietary hardware just to make sure people have to pay their $60 a year to play online games when you can play onlin
Moral of the story is, just buy a PC and never a PlayStation. The proprietary technology is also the reason you can have a PC with three times the performance for the same price as a PlayStation. There are no benefits to consoles in general, but PlayStation is especially bad.

They are making relatively bad films such as, The Emoji Movie, Jack and Jill, Pixels, After Earth, the smurfs 1&2 and much more.
