He was the Jedi Apprentice of Master Yoda, and the Jedi Master of Qui-Gon Jinn, and he felt betrayed after the Jedi refused to help Qui-Gon when he needed their help and result in his death by the hands of Darth Maul, so now he wants the game Power because the Jedi refusing to help Qui-Gon because he wasn't a member of the Jedi Council.
