William Miller hired by Rolling Stone to write an article, go on tour with a band even though he is only 15 and not published anything - Almost Famous
Because this takes place before the internet existed, the guys at Rolling Stone couldn't really stalk him on social media to find out what William was like in real life. All they had to go off was the articles he had written for Cream magazine -- which is really all they needed when hiring a freelance writer.
