THIS is a kids movie: nonsensical plot, cartoonishly stupid gags, cartoonishly exaggerated characters, and it's based on a cartoon. This was clearly made for fans of the show (meaning kids), not adults, but its comedy is smart enough to entertain adults as well.

It's overrated. The song's aren't integrated into the story very well (if you think about it, the only one that advances the main plot directly is 'Be Prepared'), Scar stops being a good villain during the third act, and the message gets screwed up thanks to a poorly executed climax.
