    6 drivers: Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Bill Elliot, Harry Gant, Kyle Petty, and Mark Martin were all mathematically eligble to win the 1992 title. Bill Elliot ended up winning the race, but Kulwicki won the championship. Gordon finished 31st after crashing out early, but since that day he hasn't missed a single race in 23 seasons.
    It was the final career start of Richard "The King Petty". The 1st career start of Jeff Gordon; and all of this happened at the season finale of the 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Season.
    Dubbed "The Wonder Kid" of NASCAR. His career commenced on what is hailed as the greatest race in NASCAR history: The 1992 Hooters 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
