(spoiler) Think about it, he left his wife after Petey was born, causing Petey to become a villain. When he comes back, he pushes him and Lil Petey around, refuses to help him when he's in danger, and takes everything from his lair. Talk about World's Worst Father.

Dave maybe a petty octopus towards penguins. But think about it, the humans, including zoo owners, ignored Dave and payed more attention to the penguins. They tansported him from zoo to zoo, yet no one acknowledges him. They were basically judging animals by looks.
