From perhaps, the oldest screenshot ever released, showing what seems to be one of the very first builds. This is the old appearance of the first Warp Room. The buttons have a completely different style. Notice also how instead of a boss button, there's a number 6 button, and not in the centre either. The button where Crash stands on emits a light

An old NTSC-US demo disc of Crash Bash / Spyro: Year of The Dragon listed Naughty Dog as the developers of Crash Bash. This was just a mistake by the editor, as Naughty Dog was never affiliated with the production of this game in any way.

All levels have different designs in the prototype. Some of them are pretty close to what you see in the final version, while others, such as Sunset Vista, are quite a bit different. Additionally, due to the absence of Gems in this version, there are no secret passages.

In the prototype version, there is a bug in the Brio boss fight that prevents the game from being finished. After his health drops down to nothing, he keeps charging at Crash, and with every extra hit he takes, he charges a little faster (until he becomes impossible to avoid). This happens occasionally in the final version too, but here it seems to

Level 31 is a hidden level in the game, and you can't usually access it without performing a certain kooky action. Fumbling with a GameShark device reveals that it originally had its own button just like most other levels in the game. It was located in the 6th Warp Room.
