Merciful Idiot! It's the forced redemption (they should killed half of Kipo's people) and abandoning the "making a reverse to the cure" plot line! it's rushed!

The Characters redesigns was completely Unnecessary. Especially Jake's & Grandpa's Dragon Forms.
Think of it like how the series went from using models to being in Full CGI, which whilst it may look like a reboot is still the same show, as evidence by moments from past episodes still being acknowledged, something the All Engines Go series might've done at points.
