#5: Making the Krusty Krab Spongebob Themed – “The Krusty Sponge”

After a prestigious television food critic publicly states that the Krusty Krab’s only saving grace is SpongeBob’s remarkable Krabby Patty-making skills, Mr. Krabs decides to take the opportunity to completely “sponge-out” the restaurant in the hopes of soaking up as much cash as possible. He changes the name to “The Krusty Sponge” and makes Squidward dress up as SpongeBob, but his greed soon takes over when he begins feeding rotten “spongy patties” to the customers; a decision that nearly puts him behind not-so-spongy bars.

#4: Using Gary as a Coin Magnet – “The Cent of Money”

When Mr. Krabs finds out SpongeBob’s pet snail Gary has a distinct reaction when he’s about to find money, he begins to use the snail as a coin magnet all around Bikini Bottom. He even goes so far as to assign SpongeBob numerous time-consuming tasks, such as painting the entire Krusty Krab, to distract him from the situation. Eventually, Gary becomes exhausted and SpongeBob discovers the truth, leading to an argument that ends in a coin avalanche, Mr. Krabs in the hospital and all of his collected change going towards paying his medical bills.

#3: Selling Trash as Antiques – “One Krabs Trash”

Mr. Krabs takes his lust for money one step further during this episode by having a garage sale…or should we say, garbage sale. He begins tricking people into buying items he fished out of the trash by calling them antiques, but the tables turn when buyers offer him up to a million dollars for a rare novelty drink hat, a hat that he just sold to SpongeBob for only $10! After several attempts to scare SpongeBob away from the hat that culminate in an epic graveyard fight, Krabs regains ownership, only to be told it no longer has any worth.

#2: “Krabby Land”

With summer vacation in full swing, Mr. Krabs decides to cater to the children who are now out of school and spending money, by creating a playground called Krabby Land. The hand-made amusement park is a clear dud, but Krabs keeps the kids’ attention with false promises of meeting Krabby the clown. After putting SpongeBob through the torture of distracting the children, Krabby turns out to be nothing but Mr.Krabs in a blue nose and clown tie. Not to worry though, he gets a taste of his own medicine when the kids fight back and redistribute their money. The only green stuff Krabs ends up with is a pile of gross lima beans.

#1: Opening Krusty Krab 2 – “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie”

How could we forget the grand gesture that sets up SpongeBob’s movie debut? This scheme, although voted at the top of this list, is pretty much the simplest of them all: Mr. Krabs makes money selling delicious patties at the Krusty Krab, so why not open another one right next door and make twice as much money? It’s pretty self-explanatory, in fact Krabs’ interview was as brief as his inspiration behind the operation: money!
