Although The Fast and Furious franchise already has eight films under their belt since their 2001 debut, “Hobbs & Shaw” marks the first spin-off to hit theatres and we finally have a trailer to get us even more excited! Before we get into the details of this action-packed Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham mission, check out the new trailer below!

Alright, now that we’re on the same page, let’s get into everything we know about this upcoming Fast and the Furious film. For starters, it’s directed by David Leitch, who brought us “Deadpool 2“, “John Wick” and “Atomic Blonde”. In terms of the cast, the trailer sets up the movie’s three primary characters: Johnson and Statham, who have returned as law enforcement Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs and assassin Deckard Shaw, from the last few Fast and Furious films and Idris Elba as the villainous and seemingly indestructible Brixton.

If you’re a longtime fan of the series and the star-studded cast isn’t enough to sway you, you’ll be pleased to hear that this spin-off is entirely contained within the original franchise universe, so perhaps some fan-favourite cameos are to be expected??? According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer Chris Morgan says, “It’s 100 percent within the universe and timeline of our Fast films. We’re interweaving the character stories and where we ended up going. So it’s a collective thoughtful effort”.
