Top 3 Anime That Hollywood Is Probably Going To Adapt

You Know It’s Only A Matter Of Time

In spite of some horrific cinematic missteps in the past, including the likes of Death Note, Dragon Ball Evolution and Fist of the North Star, it seems that studios have once again fallen in love with the idea of adapting manga and anime properties. With the likes of the extremely popular My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan joining the ranks of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam and Battle Angel Alita films, we can only assume that it won’t be long before western studios start tackling these other titles as well!

#3: “Sword Art Online”

The release and subsequent acclaim of Sword Art Online: Alicization has brought back the hype for this action-fantasy franchise, one that mixes together gaming tropes, romance and blinding sword fights to create some staggering scenes. Despite it’s polarisation, there’s no doubt that with so many popular elements to its name (including virtual reality) that any studio could see the potential for a cinematic franchise. Depending on the result, this could prove to be a bigger mistake than even Alfheim Online!

#2: “Re;Zero”

The gritty side of fantasy has been a hot topic as of late, and no anime tackles that better than this Isekai gem. The time-travel element and suffer-porn that Subaru went through allowed the show to stand above other shows of that year, not to mention it contained a love-triangle that nearly broke the internet. It’s certainly possible for this particular story to be translated to the big screen more easily than others, though it all depends on if they can capture the charm and endearing nature of Rem.

#1: “The Seven Deadly Sins”

These days, anything and everything wants to taste the success of acclaimed titles such as Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. While it’s far more light-hearted, the adventures of Meliodas and the rest of the Sins certainly tick a lot of boxes in terms of world-building and larger-than-life-characters. We wouldn’t be shocked if studios snatched up this merry band of exiled knights and decided to throw them onto the silver screen in the hope of landing a franchise. If they do, we just hope that they get Ban right…
