Get Ready For a Killer New Season
If you haven’t already heard about the Netflix documentary series that started back in December 2015 and shook up viewers to no end, then keep reading because we’ve got everything you need to know before diving back in to the Season 2 Premiere tomorrow. Going back to season 1, “Making A Murderer” followed Steven Avery, a man who was wrongly convicted of sexual assault by Manitowoc County 2 years prior, and was then arrested once again, this time for the murder of Teresa Halbach, a photographer who had visited his car yard. The 10 episode series ran through Avery’s long and dramatic trial and his attempt to prove his believed innocence, blaming faulty evidence and even being framed for the crime, only to conclude with Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey being convicted for the murder. What makes the show so interesting and hooking is its non-fictional nature, i.e. this is all really happening! This of course means that even though Season 1 has concluded, the case has continued since, meaning more secrets have been revealed and more content must be covered in Season 2!
Now, in terms of what to expect tomorrow and in Season 2, Digital Spy outlined in a recent article that according to Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, “There is a ton of info that wasn’t explored just in the confines of the episodes we’ve already done”. The article goes on to outline some basic things we can expect from Season 2 such as a familiar cast and crew including Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos who stated:
“Building on Part 1, which documented the experience of the accused, in Part 2, we have chronicled the experience of the convicted and imprisoned, two men each serving life sentences for crimes they maintain they did not commit. We are thrilled to be able to share this new phase of the journey with viewers.”
So far, we can definitely expect some new characters to be introduced such as Kathleen Zellner, Steven Avery’s new lawyer who specializes in wrongful convictions and has a clear agenda, with Digital Spy quoting her saying:
“It does not matter how long it takes, what it costs or what obstacles we have to overcome – our efforts to win Mr Avery’s freedom will never stop.”
Other than Kathleen Zellner, there have been some ongoing new leads and statements by Avery and Dassey that might be explored in this new season and even potentially a new suspect??? All these details will be made clear tomorrow, Oct.19th when Season 2 premieres on Netflix, but until then, we have an exciting announcement!!!
