What The Hell Did We Just Watch?
While many consider Tommy Wiseau to be the definitive example when it comes to cult icons, there is another director out there who might just give his wackiness a run for its money. As the creator of such classics as Fateful Findings, literally everything about a Neil Breen film is beyond sub-par. The acting is atrocious, the plot is incoherent and the special effects are bound to make you laugh your backside off. After so many disastrous cinematic outings, many wannabe filmmakers would have called it quits…but not Neil Breen.
According to an article on PasteMagazine, the trailer for Breen’s latest venture appears too be both horrendous and hilarious in equal measure.
“Neil Breen is an independent filmmaker who makes some of the most technically awful (but endlessly fascinating) vanity projects that have ever been seen through to completion. Possessing an incredibly unique mix of self-aggrandizing and clueless qualities, heâs not quite like any other figure in the âlegendarily bad moviesâ canonânot even the likes of The Roomâs Tommy Wiseau. After all, Tommy really only produced one film of his own. Breen, on the other hand, has rehashed the same themes over and over without seemingly acquiring any filmmaking skills, building a jaw-dropping body of work that now brings us his most ridiculous-looking film yet: Twisted Pair. The upcoming fifth feature from Neil Breen dropped its first trailer today, and suffice to say, it is a doozy.”
As for what Twisted Pair is actually about, whoâs to say? Breen appears to be playing his own twin brother this time around, meaning that he can play savior to humanity not once but TWICE within the same film, and wear the worldâs most pathetic fake mustache and beard while doing so.”
Does this film have the potential to upstage The Room? Is Neil Breen a misunderstood artist? Could Twisted Pair take the crown for worst film ever made? Check out the trailer below and decide for yourself!
