Top 3 Games So Terrible That We Want A Sequel

Sometimes, Stupidity Warrants A Successor

For the most part, when a video game is terrible or falls far below our expectations, it ends up getting crucified by all manner of reviewers and critics, all in the hope that something similar never rears its ugly head again. However, there are a select few, a few chosen disciples, whose overall quality is so poor that it defies comprehension. Their controls, narratives, visuals, their very foundations, all utter failures. It’s in these incidences where they become so bad that we can’t help but marvel at their blunders.

We tend to cherish awful games such as these, but on the odd occasion we find ones who take it a step further, reaching the nirvana of terrible gameplay, to the point where we kind of want to see more of their rot in a sequel. These are three such examples!

#3: “Resident Evil 6/Umbrella Corps” (2012/2016)

Now that the Resident Evil series has finally reclaimed its creepy crown as a legitimate horror series again in the form of RE7, we have to bid a fond farewell to the likes of the action-based prequels, the ones that turned the franchise into a laughing stock. While both were a discredit to the name, we’re oddly going to miss RE6 and it’s overblown, crazy fight sequences, as well as Capcom’s attempt at creating an eSport a la Umbrella Corp. Their slip ups were so legendary that they’ve become a part of gaming culture. Who knows, maybe Capcom will keep shuffling out these hilarious pitfalls alongside the now decent survival horror canon.

#2: “Ride to Hell: Retribution” (2013)

People have rightly come out and branded this game as an insult, after all it does have the creepiest and most toxic approach to woman and sex we’ve seen in a game. The rest of it though? So mindbogglingly bad that it actually broke a fair few critics upon release. In a single swoop it plunged to the bottom of the barrel, to the point where nothing has been able to touch it since. As a result, we are the tiniest bit curious to see if the developers would have the gall to release a sequel that can manage to BREAK the bottom of the barrel. It’s a scary thought to consider, but we can’t deny we’d love to watch such a thing explode on arrival.

#1: “Life of Black Tiger” (2017)

We have no idea how this managed to find a place on consoles, considering that it’s of such poor quality it would even be shunned as a PlayStation 2 game. It’s kind of fascinating that such a thing even exists, to the point where people are already talking about some kind of conspiracy within Sony. Everything about it was beyond sub-par to the point where it can’t rightfully call itself a video game, That being said, we hope we see another. It was a special kind of terrible, one that could only be developed from someone’s crazy mentality,  and if Sony decided to go ahead with the first, then why not again with a second? It’s doubtful anyone will forget this travesty, so why not embrace it?
