Anime Just Does It Better
Whether you’ve gone through the journey of self-discovery that is college or your living arrangements just happen to include relative strangers, most people can relate to the trials and tribulations that come with having a roommate. Even if everyone gets along ninety percent of the time, there are still bound to be little aspects about your fellow housing inhabitants that drive you up the wall.
At time like these, it kind of makes you wish your living space could be shared by those who hail from Japanese animation. What? You don’t? Well too bad! We’re going to be counting down the top three anime characters that we feel would make for exceptional roommates, either for how much they would contribute to the household or just how fun they would be to have around!
#3: QT
“Space Dandy” (2014)
He may not be the most advanced robot around, but what he lacks in machinery he more than makes up for in his dry wit and maternal nature. Considering he had the patience to hang around with and clean up after both Dandy and Meow, we’d say that this particular bucket of bolts would make the ideal candidate for a new roomie. He may not be much for parties and be a little too serious at times, but he managed to compensate for it by being just so darn cute!
#2: Soma Yukihira
“Food Wars” (2015-)
Not only does this guy have unimaginable amounts of chill, but he’s also one of if not the greatest chef in anime. Need we say more? Not only would his humble nature make him easy to get along with, but his love for the culinary arts would ensure that each dinner would be a literal feast!
#1: Tohru
“Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid” (2017)
This draconic denizen of a fantasy world is guaranteed to make you life infinitely better. Not only does she pride herself on keeping a clean household and mastering all there is to know about food, but there’s also the fact she’s quite adept with magic. Portals to anywhere on the planet? Done. Able to alter the weather so its always sunny? Done. Able to turn into a dragon and take you flying? Done. Granted, you’d have to be part of Kobayashi’s inner circle for any of this to happen, but hey, we can dream!
