Top 3 Double Toasted Reviews

Stay Toasty!

Youtube has provided a platform for practically anyone to be able to go online and voice their opinions. Over time this has given way to a new wave of internet critics, many of whom have taken to reviewing movies. While some never really manage to expand beyond obscurity, others have skyrocketed to new heights by blending together the standard review formula with their own personal flare. One such group are the guys and gals under the banner of Double Toasted!

With former animator Korey Coleman at the helm, the DT crew have managed to maintain a dedicated Youtube presence (along with their own website and award-winning podcast) thanks to their brutally honest yet oh so enjoyable critiques of film, television, video games as well as current social trends. With their popularity only continuing to rise, we’ve decided to count down their most entertaining reviews to date!

#3: “Transformers” franchise (2007-17)

Like everyone else, the people over at Double Toasted have grown pretty sick and tired of Michael Bay’s lazy, lackluster, explosive-filled messes. While they found Age of Extinction to be borderline insulting with its stupidity and bloated runtime, they somewhat lost their minds over the madness that was The Last Knight. Honestly we think Korey might have snapped a little inside when it was revealed that the Autobots were in cahoots with Frederick Douglass…

#2: “The Fifty Shades” franchise (2015-18)

The build up around the first film in this cringe-filled series was massive, and as expected it turned out to be a disaster, but one people could enjoy ripping to shreds. Then the sequels came out, where things got a little weird. By trying to appeal to the male demographic with helicopter crashes, car chases and attempted murder, the series lost its collective mind. It was a crazy train that the DT crew were more than happy to ride, all the while pointing out just how idiotic the whole thing was, as well as continually illustrating why Christian Grey is an awful human being.

#1: “Suicide Squad” (2016)

With costumes in tow, the comic book loving members of Double Toasted suited up to rip this edgy failure of a film a new one. With Korey channelling his inner Jared Leto, the trio illustrated the missteps it took with the antagonist, the pacing and the treatment of its characters. Of course, the real treat is when Korey really does go full-on Joker and breaks into a rant about how all Warner Bros had to do was use Batman: Assault on Arkham as a blueprint. As hilarious as it is to see such an outburst, its also clear that they all just want to see these iconic characters given the cinematic treatment they deserve.
