Ian McDiarmid To Reprise Role As Emperor Palpatine In Star Wars Rebels!

The Dark Side Is Strong In This Final Season

Like its predecessor, Star Wars Rebels has managed to capture the spirit of the original films while also injecting just enough of its own creative flare to keep things fresh. As a result, fans have been given a series that not only honors the source material, but introduced a slew of original characters that felt right at home in this faraway galaxy.

The fact they managed to get James Earl Jones to reprise his iconic role as Darth Vader while simultaneously making the prequels feel relevant is just another testament to how on point this show is, one more than worthy to be counted within the upper echelons Star Wars media

One might wonder how they plan to top this for their fourth and final season, to which the answer would probably be the return of veteran actor Ian McDiarmid, and yes, he will be once again voicing Emperor Palpatine!

According to an article on GameInformer –

Star Wars Rebels’ final season, which was split into two parts, will return on February 19, Lucasfilm announced yesterday.

The first of the final episodes will premiere on the Disney XD channel at 8pm Central, according to Starwarsnews.net. The trailer for the latter half of the season (below) also holds a nice surprise for Star Wars fans: The debut of Emperor Palpatine, who will be voiced the character’s live-action actor from the films, Ian McDiarmid.

To many, the Emperor is the quintessential villain. McDiarmid’s past performances have always walked the line between deliciously subtle and hilariously over-the-top. We can only imagine what his interactions with Ezra and the others will be like. Though I think we can all agree that there’s one line of dialogue that has to be included.
