Where The Water Tastes Like Wine: Sting Lends His Voice To New Video Game

Every Breath You Take, He’ll be Watching You

Celebrity cameos in video games are often gems that can either enhance the narrative or in some cases serve as a hilarious distraction. Either way, we’re always happy to hear a familiar voice echo out from a random NPC. In the past we’ve had everyone from Patrick Stewart, Charles Dance, Matthew Perr, Ricky Gervais, Snoop Dog and even Ozzy Osborne, which goes to show the ratio of actors to musicians who end up lending their talents to a game.

Well, that balance is about to shift again as it has been announced that the one and only Sting will have a part in the upcoming American folklore-inspired narrative game Where The Water Tastes Like Wine!

According to an article on Gamespot –

Sting, the celebrated bassist and singer from the band The Police, is voicing a video game. Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment announced today that the 16-time Grammy winner will be the narrator for one of the main stories in Where The Water Tastes Like Wine, an American folklore adventure game from developers Dim Bulb Games and Serenity Forge.

He’s not the only big name lending his voice to the game. Other cast members include Dave Fennoy (Telltale’s Walking Dead), Cissy Jones (Firewatch), and Kimberly Brooks (Mass Effect). Check out the trailer above to hear some of the topline voice actors in the game.

Where The Water Tastes Like Wine launches is early 2018 for PC. You adventure through Depression-era America, in what is described as a narrative-driven game. There are sixteeen stories in the game, and all of them are written by different people.

Maybe we’ll get a more twisted rendition of Roxanne in the soundtrack? Or perhaps The Police’s greatest hits? You can’t have Sting in your game and not expect him to sing!
