Kemono Friends Director Announces New Project: No More Anthro Girls?

Less Furry, More Fury?

Ask any diehard fan of Kemono Friends and they’ll tell you that director TATSUKI can do no wrong. So much so that when it was announced he had been fired from directing the anime’s future instalments it led to an absolute twitter meltdown and a whole torrent of unintentionally hilarious memes.

Whether or not he will return to the surprise hit of a series sometime in the far future is still up in the air, but what we do know is that he’s setting his sights on a new project. We’re sure he will manage to bring along many Kemono fans along the way, but from the short preview we have been given it looks like it might be a little more on the mature side of the spectrum.

According to an article on Anime News Network

Kemono Friends director TATSUKI and his three-person independent animationgroup irodori — which also includes Kemono Friends art director Yūko Shiromizu and Kemono Friends animation director Yoshihisa Isa — announced a new anime project with a flier at Comic Market on Friday.

TATSUKIrevealed in October that he is recruiting experienced background artists for an unannounced project.

TATSUKIreported in September that, per a notification from publishing and production company Kadokawa, he is no longer working on the Kemono Friends project.

It’s hard to say exactly what we’re exactly looking at, the only clear images being the rocky terrain, some kind of giant machinery, as well as a female individual with a very well defined posterior. Something tells us this isn’t exactly going to kid-friendly. Unless this is meant to be Serval: The Teenage Years. We’ll just have to wait and see.
