Hold On To Your Master Sword: New Zelda Game Already In Development

A Legend Never Dies

In case you hadn’t heard, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild topped a lot of people’s list for best game of 2017. It’s not hard to see why; Hyrule had never felt more real, the battles were frantic and epic in scale, plus they managed to bring real depth to the character of Zelda. It was a gaming experience that pleased die-hard fans and newcomers alike, all the while enriching the franchise as a whole.

Thanks to DLC like The Champion’s Ballad and plenty of replay value, we doubt many gamers will get bored of Link’s latest adventure any time soon. However, that doesn’t mean the developers at Nintendo are planning on slowing down.

According to an article on Gamespot

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has confirmed that his team has begun work on a new entry in the long-running and critically acclaimed series. According to Game Informer, Aonuma shared this update in the new Breath of the Wild artbook, Master Works.

The fact that a new game is in development is all we have to go on right now. There is no word on if this a new entry for mobile or console, or any other details for that matter. That Nintendo would produce a new Zelda title is of course expected, given that it is one of the company’s biggest, best-known, and best-selling franchises.

As Game Informer explains, development on Breath of the Wild began right after Skyward Sword launched in 2011. So it appears Nintendo is taking a similar approach this time.

Given the staggering amount of content we got from Breath of the Wild, we’re sure fans will happily wait patiently for a new entry, even if it does take another four years. Wonder how they plan to outdo their latest masterpiece?
