Hella Yeah! The Original Life Is Strange Voice Actors Are Returning!

A Final Farewell

Life is Strange was a video game that somehow managed to make the relationship between two high school girls just as enthralling as its time-travel and murder mystery aspects. Through its episodic structure, we followed Max and Chloe as they dealt with heartbreak, death, sacrifice and love…all the while trying to stop a storm from tearing up their town and killing everyone.

Then you have the prequel DLC; Before the Storm. While it certainly tried to trek through the same difficult subject matters, it didn’t exactly have the spark as the original did. However, it seems that fans are in for a treat since it has recently been announced that the original voices behind Max and Chloe are returning for a special bonus episode!

According to an article on Gamespot –

The voice actors behind Life Is Strange’s two main characters will reprise their roles in the upcoming bonus episode for the prequel series, Before the Storm. Ashly Burch voiced Chloe in the original Life Is Strange, but she was replaced by Rhianna DeVries due to the SAG-AFTRA voice actor strike. With the strike over, Burch is coming back to voice Chloe again, while Hannah Telle is also returning to voice Max.

DeVries is still working on the bonus episode, which is called Farewell, as she’s doing some of the motion capture work for young Chloe. In a statement, Square Enix sung DeVries’ praises and said the company is “forever thankful” to her.

Before the Storm is set three years before the events of the first game. You play as a 16-year-old Chloe who becomes friends with a character named Rachel. “When Rachel’s world is turned upside down by a family secret, it takes this new-found alliance to give each other the strength to overcome their demons,” reads a line from the game’s official description.
