Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
Over the last decade we have come to adore the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No matter how tough their situations got, we knew that the likes of Iron Man, Captain America and the rest would always come out of the other side. After all, the good guys always save the day, right?
Well, now things are a little different. With the arrival of the galactic tyrant Thanos, fans have been made painfully aware that some Avengers are not going to survive the Infinity War.Â
Everyone is speculating by this point, but given the recent news that this era of the MCU is now coming to a close, its clear that all but a few are safe from harm, and that’s only because we know they have sequels coming out!
Which is why we have decided to countdown the characters that are the most likely to fall in battle against the might of Thanos, no matter how much we want them all to live…
#5: Nebula
Thanos’ abused daughter has sworn revenge against her adoptive father after he tortured her and turned her into a cyborg. While we’re all for her taking her vengeance against him, going on a one woman crusade against the most powerful being in the universe is not the brightest of ideas…
#4: Iron Man
It all began with Tony Stark, and the likelihood is that it will end with Tony Stark. At least that was what we thought until we saw Thanos turning him into a punching bag. While he perhaps might just squeeze through to Avengers 4, we don’t put it above the Russo brothers to kill off the Genius Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist in a final scrap. We don’t want to imagine a world without Tony Stark, but its starting to seem more and more likely…
#3: Captain America
They say Cap can’t live without a war, then what better way to go out than with a war that consumes the entire cosmos? Returning from exile without his shield and with a beard, it’s clear that Steve Rogers is going to bust a few heads before he kicks the bucket. Can you think of a more fitting way for Cap to go than via the ultimate patriotic sacrifice?
#2: Bucky Barnes
While Captain America’s demise is starting to look pretty likely, there’s no way his best buddy will manage to outlast him. Seeking redemption for his past wrongdoings, Bucky will undoubtedly throw himself into the fire during the final battle. He’s sure to put up one hell of a fight though!
#1: The Vision
Thanos is hunting down the Infinity Stones, Vision has one right in the middle of his forehead. Yep, he is a dead man. While we’re sure its not going to be as simple as the trailer made it out to be, we feel that there’s very little chance of Wanda’s new love interest making it out alive.
