New Anime Mameneko Is All About Adorable Cats

So…Cute…So…Fluffy!

Unless you are deathly allergic to them, chances are that you love cats. Even if they can be the world’s biggest jerks and carry themselves around like they are the superior species, you can’t help but adore them.

But you know what’s better than regular cats? Anime cats that look like this –

These simplistic yet sweet fluffballs are the stars of the upcoming comedy/slice of life anime Mameneko, which looks to be just as adorable as you’d expect.

According to an article on Anime News Network

Publisher Sakurasha and Musework opened a website on Wednesday to announce that Nekomaki’s Mamenekocat manga is getting a television anime adaptation that will premiere in January.

Nekomaki launched the manga in 2013, and Sakurasha published the manga’s eighth compiled volume on July 4. The manga follows the daily life of a household that has two cats: Azuki and Daizu. Azuki and Daizu belong to an office worker in her 30s who loves cats. The owner lives with her father, mother, grandfather, and older brother, the latter of whom the cats call “Megane” (Glasses). Megane adopted a Shiba Inu dog named Mamenosuke after Mamenosuke’s owner died. Mamenosuke grew up around cats so he actually thinks of himself as a cat.

Yuzo Yamamoto (Chō Zenmai Robo Patrush director) is directing, writing, and producing the series at studio Charaction (Boku no Imōto wa “ÅŒsaka Okan”). Yoshinobu Yamada is the art director, and Ryō Hayakawa is the sound director. Studio Inspire is the recording studio, Studio A-Cat is composing the music, and A Craft and Onlead are producing the music.

From the looks of things we can expect all sorts of lovable hi-jinks from our two leads, made all the more endearing thanks to its gentle art style.
