For those of you that are big anime fans or avid readers of our articles, then you already know that there is a brand new romance anime on the horizon. One that focuses on the growing relationship between two high schools girls.

From what we have seen so far, Asagao to Kase-san looks like it is well on the way to stealing a lot of hearts and ushering in a new era of feels, all the while giving the yuri genre a breath of fresh air.

Japan is obviously hyped for it, so much so that it was recently announced that it will be hitting theatres for a limited release.

According an article on Crunchyroll

A quick update for fans of Asagao to Kase-san, a yuri romance manga by Hiromi Takashima that is being adapted into a new work of animation: the new work is an OAV (original animation video) that will receive a limited theatrical release in Japan in the Summer season of 2018. The cast for the project as well as the venues and showtimes will be announced at a later date.

To celebrate the announcement, the original manga author Hiromi Takashima has published a new key visual showing Yui Yamada and Tomoka Kase enjoying a movie together.

Asagao to Kase-san was previously adapted into an “animation clip” entitled Kimi no Hikari (“Your Light”) with direction by Takuya Satō and animation by ZEXCS as well as the image song “Kimi no Egao (album ver.)” by Hanako Oku.

The Asagao to Kase-san manga was originally serialized in Shinshokan’s Hirari manga magazine before moving to the Flash Wings web publication. An English language version of the manga is published by Seven Seas Entertainment under the title Kase-san and…, and they describe the story as follows:

“Yamada may be shy and rather clumsy, but the flower gardens at her school have always brought her happiness. Suddenly, a different sort of beauty catches her eye—the vivacious track star, Kase-san. Although the two girls don’t seem to have much in common, they soon start a romance where each must learn an important lesson in tending their budding relationship. Can the two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make their first love blossom?”

You can check out the original animation clip below if you want to see a glimpse of what you are in for.
