10 Upcoming Video Games With the Most Hype

Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we’re looking at 10 upcoming video games with the most hype. There are a bunch of really great games in development, and we’re excited to see which of them is getting folks the most giddy. Let’s do it!

Black Myth: Wukong

Derived from the renowned Chinese novel Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong places players in command of a formidable warrior monkey battling colossal mystical creatures, and it looks as fun as it sounds. With its captivating visuals and intricate monster design, the game promises a thrilling boss-fight experience akin to a soulslike, characterized by intense, fast-paced action. If Elden Ring, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Ghost of Tsushima were combined, you’d run out your door to pick it up on release... Don’t lie.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl marks the fourth installment in the renowned S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, which makes absolutely no sense, but you know, when in Rome? Or a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush or some s**t. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 will be the first title in the first-person zombie survival shooter franchise since 2009's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, and this entry has garnered significant attention. Despite the challenges posed by the Russo-Ukrainian War, the Ukrainian-based studio has persevered in developing the latest entry, underscoring their dedication to delivering an immersive gaming experience. I’ve never heard of a more epic reason to support a game’s launch.

Star Wars Outlaws

In Star Wars Outlaws, players are thrust into a vast galaxy brimming with opportunities awaiting discovery. Oh and it’s also in the Star Wars universe... So take my money. Departing from the traditional EA-developed open-world adventure, Ubisoft ventures into the Outer Rim, where players assume the role of the notorious scoundrel Kay Vess. Embark on a daring mission to execute the galaxy's most monumental heist. As one of the most sought-after criminals, players must navigate through perilous encounters, employing cunning tactics to outmaneuver adversaries while seizing lucrative opportunities along the way.

Exodus

Alright alright alright, let’s talk Exodus, the Matthew McConaughey-starring upcoming video game set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity struggles for survival amid the ruins of civilization… No wait, that's Interstellar... NO I was right the first time, it’s Exodus. Similar to Mass Effect, Exodus promises a space-faring adventure unfolding in the distant future. Players will assume the role of the Traveller, portrayed by Matthew McConaughey, as they embark on a journey across the galaxy, encountering diverse alien civilizations. Combining third-person shooter mechanics with a fresh cast of characters, Exodus offers an immersive experience led by McConaughey's protagonist. Exodus promises a gripping experience as players confront moral dilemmas and face the consequences of their actions... Not UNLIKE Interstellar.

Fable 4

The Fable series is celebrated for its two defining features: the ability for players to meticulously craft their ideal character, and its uproariously dark humor... and its gameplay, world building, fantasy and replayability, but that’s beside the point. For many, the original trilogy ranks among the finest RPGs ever created, delivering unparalleled player freedom reminiscent of the genre's top single-player experiences. Thankfully, if the latest trailer for Fable 4 is any indication, fans can anticipate this entry in the series will deliver just as hard as the first 3. While specific gameplay mechanics remain undisclosed, the reveal trailer showcased exceptional writing and a delightful performance by British comedian Richard Ayoade, hinting at a promising continuation of the series' signature charm.

Princess Peach: Showtime!

History is about to be made, folks. This year marks a significant milestone as Princess Peach makes her long-awaited debut in her first main console title, the highly anticipated Princess Peach: Showtime! Embark on an enchanting journey alongside Peach as she takes center stage in a captivating stage play. From wielding swords to cooking delectable dishes and unraveling mysteries, Princess Peach showcases her remarkable versatility. With such a diverse range of skills and talents, one can't help but wonder: is there anything she can't do? Other than Luigi, boom that’s officially my hundredth s*x joke that has made it through the Mojo vetting process.

Hades 2

Hades 2 represents a significant milestone for Supergiant Games, marking their inaugural venture into a direct sequel. Building upon the success of their critically acclaimed 2020 roguelike dungeon-crawler, the studio strives to elevate the experience even further as Hades 2 enters its early access phase. Players will assume the role of Melinoe, the princess of the Underworld, as she confronts the Titan of Time and his ceaseless legions in a realm teeming with mystical beings and divine entities. With an expanded world filled with gods and monsters, Hades 2 promises an immersive and captivating journey for players to embark upon.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon's Dogma was a daring departure from traditional fantasy conventions over a decade ago, and Capcom appears committed to preserving its essence in the highly anticipated sequel. And Capcom knows what happens when you depart from a series' essence: RESIDENT EVIL 6! The game promises enhancements galore, with a more refined Pawn system, expansive open world, and enriched combat mechanics ensuring each subclass boasts unique distinction. Amidst a slew of big fantasy releases slated for 2024, Dragon's Dogma 2 emerges as a potential standout, poised to captivate audiences and reaffirm its place within the magical genre.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

If you're not deeply immersed in Final Fantasy lore, it's understandable if you'd prefer to skip ahead and spare yourself the complexity. But if you're still here, let's delve into it. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth serves as the sequel to the 2020 Final Fantasy VII Remake, which, as the name suggests, is a modern rendition of the beloved 1997 classic. Let’s not forget on top of this trinity, the remakes have departed from the exact plot of the original, and even used the departure as part of the plot in an almost multiverse-esque storytelling structure. It's quite a journey, we admit. Nevertheless, for many gamers, this upcoming title is without a doubt their most eagerly awaited release of the year/decade/lifetime.

GTA VI

I mean... Come on, who isn’t ready to see what GTA 6 has to offer? With every new GTA entry, Rockstar knocks it out of the park. With each new story, we get a massive bump in graphics and gameplay. Think about the jump between 2 and 3, the bump between Vice City and San Andreas, the leap between GTA 4 and 5. These games take their time to come out, but when they finally drop, they always blow us away. With nothing at this point but a teaser trailer, we know very little about what to expect with GTA VI, but what we have learnt has given us an amazing amount of buzz.
