Top 5 Reasons the Frozen 2 Trailer Has Us Excited!
#4: The Score Is Epic
Arguably one of the main reasons “Frozen” was so successful was its music, whether it was the songs penned by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, or the score by Christophe Beck underlying each scene. Though we didn’t get any songs - let along dialogue - in the trailer for “Frozen 2,” Christophe Beck’s score is present throughout - and boy did it leave us hyped. The music really complements the sense of urgency in the visuals. Near the end of the trailer, a reimagined version of “Vuelie” from the first film’s opening can be heard, giving a sense of familiarity to an otherwise very tonally different follow-up.
#3: There's So Much Action
Even though none of our central characters talk in this trailer, the emotions they feel are visceral. It seems though, that Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf are all about to start a new and dangerous adventure. From Elsa experimenting with her ever-growing and developing powers in the ocean, and protecting Olaf from encircling fire, to Anna jumping off cliffs and opting for a sword instead of fists as self-defense, the ladies of Arendelle are growing up - and we are here for it! Just look at Elsa’s pants! We’re already imagining the utterly epic scenes in store.

#2: The Visuals Look Real
Okay be honest, when you opened this trailer, you thought for a second you might be watching a sneak peak at “Game of Thrones” - minus Elsa, obviously. And, that’s probably because the nature in this trailer - from the water, to the light, to the trees signaling the fall season - looks insanely lifelike. 2018 marked insane strides in animation technology, and not just for Disney, and with other Disney projects such as “The Lion King” remake and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” coming this year, the line between what’s real and what’s animated is just getting blurrier. “Frozen 2” looks primed to bring us to new locales and give new looks to our heroes, all the while using the advancements in the field to their full potential.
#1: It Tells Us Nothing (& That's a Good Thing)
Sometimes, you watch a trailer and you know exactly how it’s going to play out once you see it in theatres. But what’s truly great about this teaser for the 2019 “Frozen” sequel is we really don’t know what the plot is. Elsa seems to be trying to figure out how to cross the ocean using her powers - but why? Maybe to get to the shipwreck where her parents lost their lives? Then Anna’s off on her own looking forlorn - why do you do this to us, Disney?! There’s also a quick look at a pair of kids - looking somewhat like Anna and Kristoff - threatened by a powerful wind? It also seems like this film might venture outside of the kingdom of Arendelle - and will be showing us a season we haven’t seen before: autumn. November can’t come soon enough.
