Step back into the 2000s with a delicious trip down memory lane! From sweet cereals like Oreo O's and French Toast Crunch to fun snacks like Dunkaroos and Lunchables, these iconic treats defined a generation. Whether it was the playful snack packs, fruity yogurts, or quirky candy, these nostalgic favorites are sure to bring a smile to your face and make you feel like a kid again. Featuring snacks like Skittles Bubble Gum, Altoids Sours, Hershey's Kissables, SpongeBob Popsicles, Smucker's Uncrustables, and more, each one is packed with memories of childhood mornings, after school fun, and family moments filled with flavor. Ready for the ultimate sugar rush of nostalgia? Let's dive in!

#20: Oreo O’s

Turning one of the world’s most recognizable cookies into a breakfast cereal sounded like a recipe for success, and Oreo O’s delivered exactly what kids wanted. The chocolate cereal rings, sweet creme flavor, and original marshmallow pieces made every bowl feel like an indulgence before school. After disappearing from many store shelves because of licensing issues, Oreo O's became one of those childhood favorites people constantly hoped would return. For plenty of millennials, spotting that familiar blue box still brings back memories of rushed school mornings, Saturday cartoons, and a time when breakfast was often the best part of the day.

#19: Skittles Bubble Gum

Why settle for one Skittles flavor when you could blow bubbles with it? Skittles Bubble Gum took the candy’s signature fruity taste and transformed it into a chewy treat that became a favorite among kids in the 2000s. Whether you grabbed a pack at the corner store before school or tossed one into the shopping cart while begging your parents for candy, it always felt like a fun alternative to ordinary gum. The flavor may not have lasted forever, but those first few chews delivered exactly the sweet burst fans were hoping for. Half the fun came from seeing how closely it matched the candy itself, making it an easy impulse buy whenever it appeared at the checkout counter.

#18: Altoids Sours

Known for its famously strong mints, Altoids took a detour into candy with Altoids Sours. Packed inside the brand’s signature metal tins, flavors like Tangerine, Citrus, and Raspberry hit with a sharp burst of tartness before giving way to sweetness. Their distinctive packaging helped them stand out in the candy aisle, while the bold flavor kept fans reaching for another piece. When production ended in the late 2000s, demand never really disappeared. Petitions, copycat recipes, and unopened tins selling online all reflected the lasting affection for the candy. Ask longtime fans about discontinued treats from the decade, and Altoids Sours almost always find their way into the conversation.

#17: Hershey’s Kissables

What happens when you give a classic chocolate a candy-coated shell? Hershey’s answered that question with Kissables, colorful bite-sized chocolates inspired by the shape and taste of the company's famous Kisses. The crisp candy coating added a satisfying crunch before giving way to the familiar milk chocolate center, offering a fun alternative to plain chocolate candies. Their bright colors also made them a popular pick for movie nights, parties, and sharing with friends. Although Kissables were eventually replaced by Hershey’s Drops, plenty of fans still remember them as a standout treat from the 2000s and continue to wonder why they ever disappeared in the first place.

#16: SpongeBob Popsicles

No trip to the ice cream truck felt complete without staring at the picture of SpongeBob SquarePants and wondering whether the popsicle would actually look like it. Officially, the frozen treat featured SpongeBob's familiar smile, gumball eyes, and bright yellow face. In reality, every unwrapped popsicle seemed to have its own unique – and often hilariously lopsided – appearance. That unpredictability became part of the fun, with kids comparing the picture on the wrapper to the wonderfully wonky version they actually received. Years later, social media embraced the joke, turning those delightfully misshapen SpongeBob Popsicles into memes that introduced a whole new generation to one of the most unforgettable ice cream truck treats of the 2000s.

#15: Smucker’s Uncrustables

For kids who couldn't stand crusts, Uncrustables felt like the perfect invention. Smucker's took the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich, sealed the edges, removed the crust, and created a freezer staple that was ready after a quick thaw. Whether it ended up in a lunchbox, for a field trip, or grabbed as an after-school snack, it offered an easy solution for busy parents and hungry kids alike. The neat, round shape also gave it a novelty that made an ordinary PB&J feel a little more exciting. Decades later, Uncrustables are still around, but for plenty of people, they'll always be tied to childhood lunches and simpler days.

#14: Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts

Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts brought one of winter’s favorite flavors to the toaster. Rich chocolate filling, sweet frosting, and marshmallow-flavored filling delivered a combination that stood out even among the brand’s many dessert-inspired varieties. A quick trip through the toaster left the center warm and gooey, though plenty of fans were just as happy eating them straight from the foil. Released as a seasonal flavor, each winter return became something loyal fans looked forward to, with boxes often disappearing quickly from store shelves. Even now, Hot Chocolate regularly appears on wish lists for limited-edition Pop-Tarts that deserve a permanent place in the lineup.

#13: Shrek Go-Gurt

Go-Gurt was already one of the most fun snacks in the refrigerator aisle, and the Shrek edition made it even harder for kids to resist. The portable yogurt tubes were easy to squeeze, with fruity flavors, and tasted just as good frozen as they did straight from the fridge. Wrapping them in bright green Shrek packaging only added to the excitement, especially for fans who wanted anything connected to the blockbuster films. It was the kind of snack that disappeared from lunchboxes in minutes and rarely lasted long once a new box was opened. For kids of that era, Shrek Go-Gurt combined a favorite snack with a favorite movie at exactly the right time.

#12: Kellogg’s Fruit Twistables

Peeling your snack before eating it somehow made fruit snacks even more fun. Kellogg’s Fruit Twistables came as colorful strips that could be pulled apart, twisted, or eaten one layer at a time, turning a simple chewy treat into something kids actually played with before taking a bite. The fruity flavors and soft texture kept them satisfying, but it was the interactive design that made them stand out from ordinary fruit snacks. Whether you carefully unraveled every strip or ignored the gimmick and ate the whole thing at once, there wasn't really a wrong way to enjoy them. It’s exactly the sort of snack that proves food was simply more fun when you were a kid.

#11: Chips Deluxe Gripz

Mini cookies always had a way of disappearing faster than regular ones, and Chips Deluxe Gripz were no exception. Filled with bite-sized chocolate chip cookies, the grab-and-go pouches made it far too easy to finish the whole bag without thinking twice. Every cookie delivered the same buttery taste and generous chocolate chips that made Chips Deluxe a household favorite, just in a smaller, snackable form. The resealable packaging suggested you could save some for later, but that rarely seemed to happen. Whether you ate them by the handful or tried to make the bag last, Gripz delivered exactly the kind of sweet treat that kept kids reaching back into the pouch for “just one more.”

#10: Fruit by the Foot

The word “Fruit” may be right there in the name. But with three of the main ingredients being sugar, maltodextrin and corn syrup, Fruit by the Foot is as much made of fruit as it is of feet. And, if we’re being honest, that’s probably why we loved them so much. That, and the fact that we got to unroll our food like some kind of sugar red carpet for our mouths. Sure, Fruit Roll-Ups are good, but they were so short in comparison. Fruit by the Foot was, and still is, “3 Feet of Fun”!

#9: Ritz Handi-Snacks

Peeling back that flimsy plastic covering to reveal the rectangle Ritz crackers and that bright orange cheese dip is a feeling like no other. Ritz Handi-Snacks sure did come in handy when you were a hungry kid. And the little red spreader utensil was perfect for when you finished the crackers and wanted to scrape up all of the remaining cheese dip. Just looking at a picture of the plastic stick instantly takes us back to our childhoods. It’s something today’s youth can’t understand, since Ritz has officially removed the utensil in an effort to be more “eco-friendly.”

#8: French Toast Crunch

Hannah Montana wasn’t talking about cereal with the song “The Best of Both Worlds.” But if she had been, it probably would have been about French Toast Crunch. It’s a crunchy, sugar cereal that tastes like french toast! There’s absolutely nothing about that that doesn’t sound amazing! And we aren’t the only ones who thought so. In 2006, General Mills, the company who produced French Toast Crunch, stopped producing the cereal in the United States. There was such an outcry that in 2014 they brought it back! They even resurrected the classic french toast shaped pieces - which they had changed to basic squares back in the day.

#7: Dunkaroos

No, we’re not talking about “Underoos,” the often superhero-themed underwear that was fun to wear. Dunkaroos are a delicious sugary snack. We’d like to think that there was secret research done in the ‘90s and 2000s showing that kids love to assemble their snacks themselves. Because, just like Ritz Handi-Snacks separate the crackers and the cheese, Dunkaroos separate the cookies and the frosting in a similarly-designed two compartment vessel. Controlling just how much sugary goodness you get in each bite somehow makes the whole thing taste even better. Although these dunkable delights disappeared from US stores in 2012, they returned in 2020 for a new generation of kids to get their dunk on.

#6: Bagel Bites

As an adult, the idea of delicious pizza is an amazing Neapolitan-style thin crust pizza with a San Marzano tomato sauce, basil and fresh mozzarella. But as kids, we preferred our pizza in non-slice forms. We wanted it in pockets, in rolls, and of course, on little bagels. And honestly, we were onto something! Pop them in the oven then pop them in your mouth. But please let them cool down first. Raise your hand if you burned your mouth on multiple occasions as a kid trying to scarf down a Bagel Bite while it was still piping hot. They were so fun it was worth it, though.

#5: Kid Cuisine

It literally calls itself cuisine for kids. How could this classic frozen meal brand not make us feel like children again? The company did a great job advertising to the youth. So while many parents were eating Lean Cuisine, we were demanding Kid Cuisine meals consisting of cheeseburgers with corn and gummies. Or maybe you preferred the nuggets with chocolate pudding. If we’re being honest here, both of those options still sound really good all these years later. The food may have been frozen, but it felt like a really special dining experience back in the day. What more could you ask for?!

#4: Froot Loops Cereal Straws

In an attempt to clean up our planet, we’ve seen businesses and governments institute policies around the elimination of plastic straws. And while the end result is beneficial, many people agree that drinking with paper straws isn’t very enjoyable. Well, those of us who were kids in the 2000s remember that the Kellogg company was ahead of the curve. Froot Loops cereal straws were exactly what they sound like - straws made of crunchy, fruity, sugary cereal. And even better than recyclable or compostable, they were digestible! And best of all, they’re back! Although discontinued in 2009, Kellogg's reintroduced the cereal straw to a new generation in 2021.

#3: Scooby-Doo Fruit Snacks

Not to be confused with the fictional Scooby Snacks, these are fruit flavored gummies in the shape of Scooby-Doo and other characters from the classic cartoon. Because the only thing better than a sweet snack is one in the shape of characters from TV shows we love. And while the product still exists, it - like oh so many Scooby-Doo villains - isn’t exactly what it appears to be. In 2015, the company revamped it and eliminated artificial flavors and colors. In the process, they got rid of the light blue Scooby-Doo gummy - which by many accounts was the most beloved one. To that we say: “ruh roh”!

#2: Yoplait Trix Yogurt

It wasn’t just Trix cereal that that silly rabbit was trying to get his hands on back in the 2000s. The mascot was also constantly trying to fill his belly with Yoplait Trix Yogurt. And it only makes sense given that it was essentially a spoonable dairy version of the kid-friendly cereal. So many were saddened when the snack was discontinued in the mid 2010s. By the same token, loads of millennials were stoked to see it return to the store shelves in 2021. And while the product’s classic slogan tells us that it’s only for kids, we figure our inner child can enjoy it without breaking the rules.
