#10: “Wrestlemania” Debut

Speed’s entry into professional wrestling was long-anticipated among fans. He first appeared on “WrestleMania XL” in 2024 and even fought in the men’s Royal Rumble the following year. In 2026, he became a recurring guest star on “WWE Raw”. Naturally, his “Wrestlemania” debut generated major hype, and Speed lived up to it. He brought his usual brand of over-the-top chaos and confidence into the ring, though that landed him in some trouble, especially with LA Knight, a.k.a Shaun Edward Ricker. Watching him bark in celebration one moment and panic the next as he realized he was out of his depth made for solid entertainment.

#9: Barking Gone Wrong

Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., gets his streamer name from his nickname, Speedy. Why Speedy, you ask? Well, according to Complex, he was constantly running from dogs as a kid, which made him fast. Whether that has something to do with his signature barking bit, we’re not sure, but his barking has certainly taken over the world. It started with him barking during his livestreams as a hype reaction. Now he travels across the globe, barking at not just fans, but also animals. While most of these interactions are exciting for fans, others don’t end so well. He has been attacked by dogs and was even roared at by a lion for barking. Needless to say, the latter hilariously humbled him.

Surprise frights never fail to be funny. However, what makes Speed getting jumpscared go viral every time is the sheer range of his instinctive reactions. First of all, he rarely ever anticipates the jumpscare, and even if he does, he’s confident it won’t get him. Then, when it happens, the man completely loses it, and you can never predict what he’ll do next. He could start screaming, barking, cursing, talking gibberish, or, in extreme cases, even fall off his chair! Obviously, some of these reactions are highly exaggerated for effect, but that’s exactly what the audience enjoys!

#7: Terrorizing Children

Watkins’ trip to Kenya as a part of his Speed Does Africa tour was highly successful, to say the least. He reportedly gained 360,000 new YouTube subscribers while he was in the country, and one of his livestreams reached a record high of 200,000 viewers at the time. During this visit, Speed met a group of kids and instantly chose chaos, chasing them around. It was the perfect example of how his frenetic online personality translated into endlessly amusing IRL interactions. No wonder he received so much love from his fans in Kenya!

#6: Beefing with Ben

Fans who have followed Speed since his early days as a streamer know this character way too well. Back in the day, the star would spend quite a bit of time playing the game “Talking Ben”. He would ask the anthropomorphic dog loaded questions, and his answers would turn out to be so out of pocket that it would send Speed spiralling. Obviously, Ben doesn’t actually process the questions and just throws out a deadpan, pre-set reply. However, Speed reacts as if the dog just insulted his entire bloodline. He clearly knows how to put on a good show.

#5: Meeting His Hero

It is well-known that Speed is a massive fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. He wrote and released a whole song about him called “Ronaldo (Sewey)” and even has the soccer star’s face tattooed on him. He’s also famous for imitating Ronaldo’s signature ‘Siu’ goal celebration. So, naturally, when he met his idol in 2023, it was a big deal for him. The streamer was visibly overwhelmed and fell to his knees when he saw CR7. The two took a photo together and had a wholesome ‘Siu’ moment, but then he had to go ahead and bark, turning the endearing scene into a classic Speed clip. He knows that’s what makes his audience laugh, and he doesn’t hesitate to give it to them.

#4: The Fake Coming Out

Like many famous people, Speed’s sexuality has been the subject of intense public speculation for years. In 2021, he seemed to come out as gay. The declaration wasn’t somber or emotional, as you’d expect a coming out to be. Instead, it was explosive and irreverent, which was actually very on-brand for him. Although the internet star later backtracked and revealed that he’s actually straight, his fake coming out was immortalized on the internet. Laughing at someone’s far-from-intelligent ideas isn’t the kindest thing to do. Yet, when Speed lit actual fireworks inside a room, viewers couldn’t help but crack up. It happened in 2022. He was celebrating the Fourth of July while livestreaming and decided to bring out a box of fireworks for a light show … indoors. His first pick was a Pikachu-themed pyrotechnic, which quickly got out of hand. When someone tells you their mother is going through a hard time, laughing is probably not the ideal response. However, when you’re Speed and comedy is second nature to you, not laughing becomes virtually impossible. During a Fortnite livestream in 2021, a young player broke into tears, pleading with Speed to let him win. However, instead of empathizing with the kid, Speed locks in, enters zen mode, and tries his best not to burst into laughter. The result, however, is the goofiest smile on his face, which makes another player call him out on his reaction. This expression has since gone unbelievably viral, so much so that even people who have never heard of Speed use it as a reaction meme online.

In 2015, almost everyone on the internet was obsessed with duck lips. It was all thanks to King Kylie, who had debuted her freshly plumped pout that year after getting lip fillers. This spawned the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge, where people used suction to make their lips look fuller. Speed jumped on the trend too, but his results were disastrous, to say the least. What followed was a crash-out to remember. He seemed to be going through all five stages of grief in a matter of minutes. Ultimately, this clip became one of the first ones to skyrocket Speed to fame.
