Top 10 Songs That Make You Want to Jump

Coming in hot right from the, uh…jump…this song doesn’t just lift your mood, it lifts you right up out of your seat. It kind of demands it, actually. Seriously, if you can listen to “Jump” and stay completely still, you’re made of stronger stuff than us. There’s just enough edge in this track’s ‘90’s hip hop influence to make you feel cool as you bob your head and groove along. Or as you start to get hype to one of the rap line’s fiery verses. As per the lyrics, it feels so good just to let go and get swept up in the energy of this song. And no ARMY alive can resist hearing V growl out his infamous line.

#9: “Anpanman”

Don’t we all have days where we wish someone would swoop in and make everything better? Well luckily for us, we’ve got Bangtan. Just being able to imagine BTS flying in to save the day is pretty great, but the song is also a certified bop. It’s got an irresistible bounce that has us grinning ear to ear and reaching for the volume to…well, you know. Throughout Anpanman, BTS promise to be there for people who need them, while also sharing their vulnerabilities. Though they say they might only be able to offer encouragement, this song proves that would be more than enough. A couple repeats of “Anpanman” leaves us feeling ready to go out and be our own hero.

#8: “So What”

Top 10 Songs That Will Instantly Boost Your Mood

There are times when you just have to chuck it all and live for the moment. Sure, life is complicated, and confusing, and even frustrating. With “So What” BTS reminds us that we can’t let ourselves get bogged down by stress. The galloping tempo of “So What” lends a feeling of rejuvenating abandon. But at the same time it’s not about escape so much as acknowledging the limits of your own control. It’s kind of like a more energetic version of the Serenity Prayer in that way. When life starts getting overwhelming, this song is a great way to reframe your perspective on all your worries. Sometimes the best thing you can do is throw your head back and yell:

#7: “Attack on Bangtan”

Spire Wolf - Cyber Attack

Though it wasn’t their debut song, one could argue that this wildly underrated early career release functioned as BTS’ theme song. And it blasts out of the speakers with the raw, infectious energy that defined the ambitious rookie group. Listening to this song it’s impossible not to catch the high of excitement and possibility that was powering BTS at the time. It doesn’t elevate a mood so much as blast it off into the stratosphere. We can’t help but feel scrappy, powerful, and ready to kick down a few doors, all while wearing the world’s biggest smile. What happens if BTS rises? We all get on our feet, that’s what.

#6: “21st Century Girls”

Everybody feels insecure from time to time, and when that happens a little encouragement can go a long way. Of course, it doesn’t hurt if it’s coming from BTS. With “21st Century Girls,’ Bangtan is here to reassure you that they’ve got your back. Even if you’re struggling, they’re there singing about how awesome you are. Sure, we may have to admit that they don’t actually know most of us, but it still feels nice to put on our headphones, look in the mirror, and have them soundtrack our affirmation process. What ARMY wouldn’t walk a little taller with those reminders ringing in their head? And come the chorus we’re more than happy to show our appreciation in return.

#5: “Boy With Luv”

Top 10 Best Songs of 2023

There are some songs that can just transport you to another place. And “Boy With Luv” takes us into a brighter world. The breezy track erases our cares and gets us feeling our main character energy in the most positive way. Flirty but wholesome, romantic but chill, something about listening to this song just makes you feel lighter. This is the kind of song that could inspire a person to go dancing through the streets like the star of their own musical romcom. And yes, we know that’s kind of implied in the video concept, but listening to the song alone we…kind of get it. “Boy With Luv” is the type of effortless high that makes you feel like walking on air.

#4: “Outro: Ego”

The members of BTS have made us feel the whole spectrum of human emotions on their various solo tracks. But leave it to J-Hope, the human embodiment of sunshine, to get our endorphins spiking. The closing track for the Map of the Soul: 7 album is an irresistible earworm with candid, reflective lyrics. Ultimately though, it’s a celebration of personal growth and optimism about the future. And in true J-Hope fashion, he invites us to share in the celebration fully. The catchy horns and rhythmic melody will work their way into your head and your bloodstream, and fill you up with effervescent joy. We may not be able to dance like Hobi, but “Ego” gives us the confidence to try.

#3: “Dynamite”

If “Ego” coaxed you out on the dance floor, “Dynamite” will have you moving like you own it. While ARMYs know that BTS had a substantial catalog of hits before the release of their first full English language track, it’s easy to see why this one made a…bang on the international scene. “Dynamite” might well be designed to burrow directly into our brains and chase bad feelings away. It’s not as deep or as nuanced as we know BTS can go, but it doesn’t have to be. The disco-influenced song is pure exuberance. It invites you to shake off whatever inhibitions you might have and dance like a fool. There’s definitely no chill here, but it will fill you with an undeniable glow.

#2: “Mikrokosmos”

To hear the opening strains of this song is to see the night sky sparkling above. Indeed, the lyrics compare individuals to stars. And each light is an important part of a vast constellation. “Mikrokosmos” is whimsical but deeply heartfelt, especially in days when so many people have struggled with feelings of isolation. It’s both a celebration of individuality and a message of friendship that transcends space and time. This song reminds us that our unique qualities are what ultimately help light up the dark, creating inspiration and connections we may not even be aware of. Though we feel alone, we are still part of something more beautiful and more real than we can imagine. And that’s the kind of thought that keeps us looking up. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions “Magic Shop” Hmm, What’s a Song That Always Feels Like Getting a Warm Musical Hug From Our Seven Favorite Guys? “Permission to Dance” Good Thing We Don’t Need Permission to Dance, Because We Were Already Out of Our Seats “Stay Gold” Just Like Magic, This Japanese Single Steals Our Hearts Every Time “Euphoria” Upbeat Yet Dreamy, Jungkook’s Solo Song Makes Us Feel Like We Could Lift Right Off the Ground “Butter” We Get the Summer Party Vibes All Year Round With this Hotter, Sweeter, Cooler Jam

#1: “Answer: Love Myself”

When you look back on BTS’ musical evolution, the theme of self love has frequently been there in some form. With this song they put it all out on the table. Love requires acceptance, flaws and all, and that can be difficult for anyone. As we listen to the members sing about their own journeys along that path we are reminded that it is work worth doing. And while external factors can help us, ultimately happiness and self love come from within. BTS’ approach to mental health is one of the strongest connection points for their fans. As much as we love BTS, they’ve always encouraged us to love ourselves first and hardest. It’s a feeling that will last long after any song has ended.
