With another three succumbing to their injuries, Card committed Maine’s most fatal shooting spree ever in roughly twelve minutes. Fleeing from the crime scenes, Card remained missing for just over two days until the authorities found his body with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Not long after the shootings, hoards of Maine residents reportedly flocked to gun shops, supposedly looking to “protect themselves” as one store owner put it.
