Valentina

The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 9 reunion remains one of the most intense in the show’s history. Many queens came ready to confront Valentina, whose fans had reportedly sent them hate online. Their biggest grievance was that Valentina knew about the harassment but said nothing to defend her sisters. In her own defense, Valentina claimed she hadn’t seen the comments because she wasn’t very active on social media. But that claim wasn’t even allowed to linger for a minute before it was refuted. Shea Couleé immediately called Valentina out, insisting that she was always online, engaging with fans and fully aware of what was being said. Once her claim was debunked, Valentina shifted gears and accused Shea of attacking her.

Luxx Noir London

Season 15 had barely even begun before we got our first little drama. After Luxx Noir London strutted into the werk room, Irene the Alien complimented her on her “22-inch human hair wig.” But Luxx quickly corrected her, insisting that it was 40 inches. As a queen with significantly more experience in drag, Irene clearly wasn’t buying it and she joked that Luxx was either lying or had been scammed. Call it delusion or simply living in her fantasy, but absolutely nothing could sway Luxx’s belief. But if she was truly certain that her wig was indeed 40 inches, she could’ve just whipped out a tape measure to set the record straight, but she didn’t, so…

Arrietty

Arrietty had a polarizing run on Season 17, but the real controversy began after the season ended. It started when her former drag mother, Irene the Alien, stated in a video on Mistress Isabelle Brooks’ YouTube channel that their relationship had crumbled and explained why. In response, Arrietty took to Twitter, claiming that their split stemmed from money issues. She then went further to accuse Irene of racist behavior and inappropriate conduct with minors. These posts drew significant backlash, especially since Arrietty provided no evidence to support her claims. A few days later, she deleted the posts and issued a lengthy apology, admitting that her accusations were exaggerated. In her statement, she took full responsibility for her actions and promised to do better moving forward.

Willam

Since her disqualification from “Drag Race,” Willam has been outspoken about her grievances with the show’s producers. She often shares behind-the-scenes tea, which is how this particular rumor surfaced. While the third season of “Drag Race UK” was still airing, Willam claimed that all 10 episodes had been filmed in just 10 days. This sent shockwaves through the “Drag Race” fandom, especially as she added that the queens were overworked, mistreated and not allowed adequate time to recover from on-set injuries. However, people who actually participated in the season later debunked her claims. River Medway posted a tweet mocking Willam’s statement, while fellow Season 3 queens like Krystal Versace and Ella Vaday confirmed that filming lasted closer to three weeks.

Hollywould Star

They say you should never ask a drag queen her age, unless you’re prepared to be lied to. You’d think RuPaul would know this, but even she broke that rule when she asked “Drag Race Down Under” queen Hollywould Star about hers. No one would have suspected that her answer could be false, but RuPaul apparently looked through Hollywould’s files and uncovered a sneaky little lie. The next week, she brought it up during the werk room walkthrough, catching Hollywould completely off guard. Although the Sydney queen initially stuck to her story, RuPaul managed to expose the truth by asking her one simple question. But who can blame her? She is a Hollywood star after all. It’s what they all do.

Kandy Muse

One of the most riveting moments on the otherwise lackluster “All Stars” 8 came during the “Snatch Game” episode when Heidi N Closet unexpectedly quit the competition. Her decision largely stemmed from a tense confrontation with Kandy Muse. Apparently, Heidi had told Jimbo that Kandy was gunning to eliminate her because she was the frontrunner, a claim that Kandy vehemently denied in the werk room. When Alexis Michelle failed to back up Heidi’s story, it devolved into a confusing round of “he said, she said, they said,” leaving Heidi frustrated enough to leave. But as it turns out, Heidi was actually telling the truth, as some of the other queens corroborated her story. In the end, Kandy admitted that she had lied.

Ginger Minj

On “All Stars” 10, Ginger Minj and Daya Betty lip synced to “Defying Gravity,” in front of “Wicked” stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. From the show’s edit, it was a fairly standard performance. But Ginger later claimed on the “Sentimental Men” podcast that Erivo had briefly joined in during the battle cry section, but it was edited out. However, on her own podcast, Daya Betty said she didn’t recall anything like that happening. This was echoed by Acid Betty and Denali, who were also part of the third bracket. This wouldn’t be the first time Ginger was accused of lying. Bob the Drag Queen once alleged that she merged his and Kornbread Jeté’s separate encounters with actress Kathy Najimy and presented them as her own experience.

Jaremi Carey (fka Phi Phi O'Hara)

This drag performer’s run on “All Stars” 2 didn’t go as he had hoped. Carey later alleged that the producers had deliberately edited the footage to portray him as a villain, which resulted in a wave of online hate. He also claimed that the producers loved Alyssa Edwards and gave her a more flattering edit. To buttress this point, Carey said that the critiques segment in one episode had been manipulated, making Carson Kressley’s positive comments for Detox appear as though they were meant for Alyssa. If true, this would have strongly suggested the producers had it out for Phi Phi. However, the show refuted his claims by releasing the unedited footage, which confirmed that Kressley’s critiques were genuinely directed at Alyssa.

India Ferrah

India Ferrah stirred up quite the drama on “All Stars” 5 when she told Shea Couleé that some queens had plotted to get rid of her. The accused? Alexis Mateo and Mayhem Miller. This allegation led to a heated moment with Shea confronting Alexis, who firmly denied the accusation. Alexis insisted that India fabricated the story simply to save herself from elimination. Unfortunately for India, the tactic failed and she was sent home. When the eliminated queens returned for the finale, the issue resurfaced. This time, Mayhem was present to clear the air and she confirmed that she and Alexis has only asked India who she voted for, nothing more. At this point, it became clear that India had lied, prompting Shea to apologize to Alexis.

Robbie Turner

Back in April 2018, Season 8 queen Robbie Turner took to social media to share that she had survived a serious Uber accident that tragically claimed the life of her driver. She said she only suffered minor injuries and expressed gratitude for being alive. Initially, fans flooded her with love and support. However, the story quickly unraveled when reporters discovered that neither Uber nor Seattle Police had any record of a fatal crash that night. After this evidence was revealed, Turner returned to social media to admit that the accident never happened and apologized for making the post. Why she would fabricate such a story remains unclear, but Turner stepped away from drag soon after and hasn’t been heard from since.
