While Israel is a popular beach spot for sunbathing and water sports, it is also filled with sites of historical and religious interest. One such attraction is an important Jewish site known as the Western, or Wailing, Wall. Another important pilgrimage destination is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which contains the Stone of Anointing, or the Stone of Unction, which is said to be where Jesus' body was readied for burial. Hedges, flower beds and graveled paths climb the side of Mount Carmel, and are known as the Hanging Gardens of Haifa, or the Baha'i Terraces.
