These companies were not too big to fail. Despite holding a huge market share at certain points during their history, these brands all made mistakes that cost them dearly. Whether it was greed – as was the case with Lehman Brothers, pressure from competitors for stores like Woolworth's, a failure to keep up with market trends like Blockbuster, or even terrorist attacks that helped kill a brand like Pan Am, there are innumerable reasons for a big brand to fall.
