Formed in Iceland in 2010, Of Monsters and Men won an annual battle of the bands competition and decided to continue pursuing music. They released their 2011 debut, "My Head is an Animal," in their native country and were soon given exposure in the U.S. after an American radio station began playing one the band's songs.
