Game Day Chicken Wings in Cola

This is one of the most popular appetizers around, and there are a ton of variations to suit your tastes.

Ingredients:

Keep in mind, this recipe can easily be doubled to make a bigger batch. You will need:
- 2 pounds of chicken wings
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon onion salt
- 6 ounces of cola
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- If you want to kick it up a bit, add hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the sauce
I suggest using a disposable baking dish to help with cleanup, because the sauce can get pretty sticky.

Directions:

1. Remove the tips from the chicken wings.
2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
3. Place the wings in your baking dish, and season both sides with the garlic and onion salts.
4. Now, in a small bowl mix the cola, brown sugar and soy sauce.
5. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
6. Cover the pan with tinfoil and place it in the oven for two hours. Make sure to turn the wings over every half hour.
7. When that’s done, uncover the pan and cook for another one-to-two hours. Continue turning them over every half hour.
8. If, at the end of the cooking time, you find the sauce too runny, you can always transfer it to a saucepan and boil it down on top of the stove.
If you don’t have time to babysit your wings all afternoon, you can throw them in a crockpot which means you don’t have to keep turning them over.

Now you’re ready to serve these up on game day for a surefire touchdown!
