Halle Bailey may still be a teenager, but at only 19 she has already had a ton of impressive career accomplishments in the entertainment field. Most notably, she is half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, an R&B group which she formed with her older sister. The two are very hands-on in producing their tracks; they even play their own instruments! They first started posting songs on YouTube when they were only 11 and 13 years old, and now a few years later they’ve performed at the Super Bowl pregame show and the 2019 Grammys, where they were nominated for two awards as well, including Best New Artist.

#4: She's on “Grown-ish”

While Halle Bailey and her sister Chloe may be better known for their musical careers, the two are also into acting, and both appear on the Freeform show “Grown-ish,” a spin-off of the popular sitcom “Black-ish.” They even wrote the show’s theme song! Halle plays Skylar Forster, a student who attends Cal U with main character Zoey Johnson. Skylar is athletic and confident, and very focused on her studies. So far, this has been her only notable role, so she may not have a ton of acting experience, but we have a feeling that won’t be the case for long!

When it was announced that Halle Bailey would be playing Ariel in the upcoming live action version of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”, there was some confusion for anyone who didn’t read the news closely because of another actress with a very similar name. So while Halle BERRY has no affiliation with the film, she was ready with a heartfelt congratulations for the younger Halle on her casting news. And Berry wasn’t the only one; Bailey received positive reactions from the likes of Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Willow Smith and Chrissy Teigen as well.

#2: Beyoncé Helped Her Get Her Start

After Chloe x Halle posted several Beyoncé covers to their YouTube channel, they managed to catch the attention of Queen Bey herself, and by 2015 they were signed to Parkwood Entertainment, her management company. The following year, both sisters made appearances in Beyoncé’s visual album “Lemonade,” also opening shows for her when she embarked on her Formation world tour in Europe. When Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s On the Run II tour rolled around in 2018, Chloe x Halle were there again to kick those shows off. You know your career is off to a good start when you’ve got Bey in your corner!

We have a feeling Halle’s next project MIGHT make her a household name. In July 2019, Bailey was cast as Ariel in the live-action “The Little Mermaid” adaptation. The move caused a stir online, since, of course, the animated version of Ariel is white, but overall, fans are excited to see her take on the role. Rob Marshall, known for movie musicals such as “Chicago” and “Mary Poppins Returns,” is back in the director’s seat for this undertaking. In a statement, Marshall sang Bailey’s praises, saying “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.” We can’t WAIT to see her be “part of this world.”
