Top 5 Easter Eggs in Assassin’s Creed Games These Easter eggs may not be as deadly as a hidden blade, but they can be just as sneaky! Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today, we’re counting down our picks for the Top 5 Easter Eggs in Assassin’s Creed Games. For this list, we’re looking at a handful of some of the greatest Easter Eggs across the Assassin’s Creed series. Some are just there for pure entertainment while others might cause you to speculate what they’ve got planned for the future over at Ubisoft HQ.

#5: Dark Souls

“Assassin's Creed Origins” (2017) Praise the sun! We have a Dark Souls reference in “Origins”! No, we don’t get an emote of the pose, but trust us, this is just as good. In the southwestern area of Paraitonion, you’ll find some ruins to explore. Inside, there’s a sword lodged deep into a pile of ash and bones, just like the bonfires in “Dark Souls.” Interacting with it will show some text, and, in typical “Dark Souls” fashion, it’s a little depressing. It’s a shame we can’t do more with it, like grab the weapon for ourselves, but it’s a neat nod to FromSoftware’s infamously difficult series.

“Assassin's Creed III” (2012) & “Assassin’s Creed Rogue” (2014) Creepy stuff happens at night, kids, even in a virtual simulation of someone else’s memories. This Easter egg appears in two games: “AC3” and “Rogue”. In “Assassin’s Creed III”, Connor may encounter the Headless Horseman, but the guy will just ride off. While Connor writes off the encounter as just a maniacal man on a killing spree, we beg to differ after playing “Rogue”. If you hang around Old Dutch Church at night, the Headless Horseman will begin to attack Shay, and there’s only one way to kill him. His jack-o-lantern will be perched on one of the tombstones in the cemetery. All you need to do is shoot it and the nightmare will end.

#3: What’s With All the Whales?

“Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag” (2013) & “Assassin’s Creed Origins” (2017) For some strange reason, “Assassin’s Creed” has an affinity for whales. You can find whales in a small handful of the titles. In “Origins”, you can find the fossil of an extinct whale species, the Archaeoceti. “Black Flag”, however, has two whale-related Easter eggs. You can witness a rather one-sided fight between a giant squid and a white whale. However, “Black Flag’s” has a special treat for you hunters out there. Its rare, but you might encounter the legendary white whale, Moby Dick! Well, call me Ishmael!

#2: Assassin’s Turkey

One Easter Egg In EVERY Assassin's Creed Game

“Assassin's Creed III” (2012) The Assassins love their birds, specifically eagles. Apparently, they have a love for turkeys, too, as evident in this “AC3” Easter egg. You’ll need to go to the Davenport Homestead and take cover by your porch. Just give a little whistle and a friendly turkey will run up to you. Now…TARGET IT, but don’t kill it! Input the Konami Code, and your turkey friend will don a hood like yours. Welcome to the Brotherhood.

#1: Watch_Dogs

“Assassin’s Creed Origins” (2017) We’ve heard the theories of “Watch Dogs” and “Assassin’s Creed” being in the same universe, but nothing is set in stone until the creators get involved…or add more details. At first, we had a document in “Black Flag”, you meet Olivier Garneau, the CEO of Abstergo Industries. Later on, you find out he went missing after leaving for Chicago, where, if you’ve played “Watch Dogs,” you know he’s been assassinated by the protagonist, Aiden Piece. “Origins,” really seals it, as there’s a doc file confirming that Garneau was taken down by Pierce. Series writer Darby McDevitt says, “Watch Dogs” and “Assassin’s Creed” do not coexist, but the whole thing with Garneau says otherwise.
