After Larry eventually confesses his feelings for her, they give into their newfound romance. It's a shocking and surprising moment that is made even worse by the fact that it’s not only a physical, but an emotional attraction. The two eventually leave their partners for each other, and while Larry and Piper were not meant to be, it’s a shame that things had to end the way they did.

After Deb’s therapist convinces her that she’s in love with her adopted brother, Dexter, an innocent conversation about chopsticks turns into a makeout session between siblings. Thankfully, it was all a dream, but nonetheless it was a strange and disturbing storyline that was dark even by “Dexter” standards. Fans couldn’t help but feel unnerved by the turn of events and it soured much of the remainder of the series.

“She’s just a girl in love…” with the wrong guy. Sure, Rebecca Bunch uprooted her whole life and moved across the country to West Covina, California for her crush Josh Chan. But the dramatic irony of the situation is that we the audience know that Josh isn’t the right one for her, whereas Rebecca does not. Sure, the situation’s “a lot more nuanced than that,” but when they did kiss, it left fans worried. In any other series, seeing the protagonist achieve their goal would be satisfying, but in this case, it’s the total opposite.
#7: Willow Rosenberg & Kennedy
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1997-2003)
During a time where queer couplings were especially rare on television, Willow Rosenberg and Tara Maclay were an exception. The witchy duo were fan favorites and just when it seemed like they were the ultimate couple goal, the show killed off Tara. Her departure was painful for both fans and Willow. Eventually, she had to move on and found comfort in the arms of slayer Kennedy. Devoted fans found their first kiss to be rushed and that personality-wise, the two were just too different. Above all else, Kennedy couldn’t compare to fans' admiration for Tara.

While this act of affection would be totally fine, the fact that they’re related cranks up the ick factor. Watching the aunt and nephew pair making out is harder to digest than the show’s most violent scenes. While fans figured it was eventually gonna happen, it didn’t make it any less squirm-inducing.

Sometimes, going from friends to romantic partners works very well. Other times, it’s a complete mistake. After creating a solid friendship, Dr. George O’Malley and Dr. Izzie Stevens went and ruined all of it by falling for each other. After a one night stand, the two eventually decide to give it a shot, with George even divorcing his wife Callie to do so. Katherine Heigl herself went on the record in 2008, expressing that the pairing was out of character and was only done to boost ratings. Thankfully, the two didn’t end up together, but it still doesn’t make up for this unnecessary pairing.

Jughead’s use of “Vughead” and “Bughead'' elevates the cringe factor to an unprecedented level. Unsurprisingly, the whole thing comes off more sweaty than steamy and just makes matters even more awkward for the foursome.

To make matters worse, the future journalist shows little remorse or guilt for her act of infidelity.
