VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton WRITTEN BY: Ty Richardson
This action star knows her way around a fight! For this list, with the release of the Monster Hunter movie, we'll be looking at moments from across Jovovich's filmography that showed her kicking butt and taking names! Our countdown includes "Resident Evil", "The Fifth Element", "The Three Musketeers", and more!

#10: Taking Down the Watchmaker

"Survivor" (2015) No, Milla did not appear in a season of the acclaimed reality TV series, though we know she’d dominate the competition. This action-thriller sees Pierce Brosnan as a notorious assassin known as “the Watchmaker” with Milla as Officer Katherine Abbott. On screen, these two know how to make a fight look good, and it shows during the climax of the movie. Katherine repeatedly manages to keep Watchmaker from pulling the trigger on his sniper rifle, and just when it looks like Brosnan’s character is about to win, Kathrine sends him off the edge of the building.

#9: Zombie Dogs

"Resident Evil" (2002) Jovovich is widely known for playing as Alice throughout the “Resident Evil” movies. While the general opinion of each film fluctuates, one can always count on Milla to make a show out of it as we’ll see throughout this list. However, one of the best moments of the franchise occurs in the first movie when Alice finds herself surrounded by vicious, zombified hounds. She goes completely nuts, unloading her pistol’s ammo before finishing the last one with a flying kick across the face. We’d probably bust an ankle or strain a muscle trying to do this.

#8: Fighting off Zombies & Umbrella Corps

"Resident Evil: Extinction" (2007) In this scene, Alice and company fight off a horde of zombies, but while everyone else is using guns (which have clearly not been enough to stop most of the zombies), Alice is running around and slicing them up with a couple of machetes! This goes on for a good handful of minutes, and it’s spectacular to watch! As if she couldn’t get anymore badass, Alice manages to ambush a small squad of Umbrella Corps soldiers just before they make their escape. This moment would have gotten higher on the list had Alice taken down the helicopter. Almost had ‘em!

#7: Joan Leads the Battle

"The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc" (1999) Typically when we do these “Beast Mode” lists, we focus on the aggressive moments, with intense action, fighting, ruthless behavior on display. However, a compelling moment such as this can also count for this list. In “The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc”, Jovovich portrays the national heroine of France and gives a heart wrenching monologue before another battle with the English. To stand alone in an open field, just a few feet away from archers and swordsmen… It’s quite the badass power play, and her message ends up convincing the English to retreat. Hey, you’d basically have to go Beast Mode just to work up the courage to attempt something like this!

#6: Punching Towards the Lens

"Resident Evil" (2002) Even when you're not in character, it may be difficult to refrain from going Beast Mode, especially if you’re the star of an action movie. That was a lesson Jovovich had learned before she would marry now-husband Paul W. S. Anderson. According to Milla, this incident occurred during production of the first “Resident Evil” movie. As Anderson was planning shots, he held up his hands in a manner similar to a movie frame and asked Jovovich to “punch towards the lens”. ...Well, She did, and Anderson supposedly had a black eye for a few weeks as they continued production.

#5: Leeloo's Escape

"The Fifth Element" (1997) Yeah, remember “The Fifth Element”? This movie was a wild ride from start to finish, but one of the best moments was seeing Jovovich in action! Milla plays as the mysterious Leeloo, and her debut scene goes from zero to sixty in a flash. After remembering her previous life, Leeloo freaks out, assaults General Munro, and begins her escape out of the government facility. Unfortunately, her escape comes to grinding halt as she finds herself standing along the side of the building. Just when the guards think they’ve got her, she jumps off. A perfect getaway? Eh, it could have gone better, but it was still cool to witness, though!

#4: Taking on a Fleet of Military Aircraft

"Resident Evil: Retribution" (2012) What makes this opening so strange is how the entire scene plays out in reverse as if time is rewinding itself. However, it makes Milla’s character even more of a badass! As the intro progresses (or...regresses?), we see that Alice tried taking on a whole fleet of gunships with just a pair of shotguns. Yeah, this causes the death of most of the ship’s crew, but come on - she took down an entire gunship with a single shell before having to throw herself overboard! How cool is that!?

#3: Fighting in a Dress

"The Three Musketeers" (2011) This time, Milla Jovovich takes the role of antagonist as the alluring M’lady de Winter, and she proves to be just as awesome as Alice! When the Musketeers spot M’lady in the Queen’s Wing, they tell her she cannot be in the area. She fools one by playing dumb before stealing his sword and taking them all down. And yeah, she does all of this while wearing that extravagant dress! As if she couldn’t get more frightening, she manages to time the clock’s bell to mask her shot on the last musketeer standing. This is one woman you DO NOT want to mess with!

#2: The Library Scene

"Ultraviolet" (2006) “Ultraviolet” was not exactly the most popular in Jovovich’s filmography, yet it holds one of the coolest fight sequences in her career. Taking the role of Violet Song Jat Shariff, Jovovich proves she can look just as cool utilizing some gun fu as she can while fighting zombies. When infiltrating the Archministry’s library, Violet takes down a single guard and is immediately greeted with an onslaught. As the guards funnel through, she unloads every shot and defeats them all with very little effort and a whole lot of style.

#1: The Convoy Tank Chase

Top 20 Times Batman Went Beast Mode

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" (2017) Of course we had to put Alice on the top spot; we’ve already spent half of the list gushing about how cool she is! This moment, on the other hand, solidifies her status as a bonafide badass! Alice finds herself stuck in a fight with Dr. Isaacs while standing atop his convoy tank. Oh, and there’s a massive horde of zombies trailing behind them. No biggie. Not only does Alice manage to avoid becoming zombie food a couple of times, but she also manages to take down Isaacs before making an explosive escape on a motorcycle. How could this not be Milla Jovovich’s best moment?
