Katy Perry is always making a statement on the red carpet! Whether it's her dramatic golden angel outfit at the 2018 Met Gala or her various bold outfits at award shows, this singer knows how to stun.

#10: Low Cut Pink Dress by Prada "73rd Golden Globe Awards" (2016)

Katy Perry channeled her inner 1960s sex kitten in this rosy colored dress designed by Prada. At the 2016 Golden Globe Awards Perry was attending in order to present the award for Best Original Song. This look is much more pared back than we’re used to seeing from the singer, with simple clean lines and without adornment. This pick was all about showing off her figure, which she totally nailed. Though the dress is definitely a standout, it’s Perry’s retro hair and makeup that bring this look together.

#9: Asymmetrical White Gown by Stephane Rolland "34th MTV Video Music Awards" (2017)

Katy Perry was nominated for five awards at the 2017 VMAs, and even though she didn’t take home a statue, she was still perfection on the red carpet. With her closely cropped hair, choosing a dress with so much visual interest really let the garment shine. The asymmetrical construction of this all white piece really catches the eye, and the sculptural nature of it definitely turned heads. Despite how show-stopping the gown itself was, Perry still went all out with her accessories, choosing oversized mod earrings.

#8: Shimmery Bronze Gown by Jean Paul Gaultier “Vanity Fair” Oscar Party (2017)

Opting for an asymmetrical cut on another occasion, at the Academy Awards biggest after party in 2017, Perry looked statuesque in a Jean Paul Gaultier gown. The dress featured one padded shoulder with a cap sleeve and the other with a more typical slim strap, creating some interesting contrast. The singer’s pin straight blonde locks worked perfectly to complement the outfit, giving an effect that was sleek and modern. Her earthy colored eye makeup matched the gown itself, which gave the look even more cohesion.

#7: Sheer Crystal Dress by Zuhair Murad "57th Annual Grammy Awards" (2015)

After performing at the Super Bowl in early 2015, Perry had a lot to live up to when it came time to walk the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. Her album “Prism” was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album and she embodied the record’s title with her crystal encrusted Zuhair Murad dress. This look was a little more covered up than we’re using to seeingPerry, but it was anything but prim with her lilac colored hair. Perry said to Ryan Seacrest that she had aimed to "shine bright like a diamond" and we’ll be the first to say that she unequivocally succeeded.

#6: Denim Dress by Versace "31st MTV Video Music Awards" (2014)

We wonder if Katy Perry knew that Rihanna and Lady Gaga would both be skipping the 2014 VMAs when she chose this outfit. Clearly the red carpet needed a little excitement, and Perry brought it with an all-denim homage to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake circa 2001. The early aughts power couple notoriously wore controversial matching outfits to the American Music Awards that year, which served as unlikely inspiration for Perry and her date Riff Raff. This outfit surely wasn’t meant to make the best-dressed lists, but it definitely made things interesting.

#5: Dramatic Red Gown by Marchesa “amfAR's 23rd Cinema Against AIDS Gala” Cocktail Reception (2016)

For this charity event at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016, Katy Perry blew everyone away with this Marchesa gown that looked like a bouquet of roses. The silhouette was a unique one, with a mermaid style hem and oversized sleeves. Because the gown itself was such a standout piece, Perry made the smart choice to keep things simple in terms of her beauty look. Her hair was slicked back into a low chignon and she wore an understated red lip that perfectly matched her dress.

#4: Avant Garde Red Outfit by Maison Margiela by John Galliano “Met Gala” (2017)

It’s hard to know where to start when describing this outfit. The veil? The “witness” headpiece? The shape? The embellishments? Everything about this look was pretty overwhelming. The theme of the night was “Rei Kawakubo/Commes des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” and Perry was co-chairing the event, so there was no way she could be anything but the most dramatic figure on the red carpet. Not everyone was a fan of this over the top look, but you can’t say she didn’t give it her all.

#3: Bejeweled Gold Mini-Dress by Versace "Met Gala" (2018)

Not one to be outshined on the red carpet, Katy Perry made a grand entrance at the 2018 Met Gala. The theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic imagination and Perry showed the world what it meant to follow a theme closely. The pop superstar arrived on the red carpet dressed like an actual angel! Wearing a gold Versace chainmail mini dress and matching gold thigh high boots. What really stole the show, however, was her massive angel wings which reportedly span six feet! Of course, who could forget her first pair of angel wings at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards!

#2: Green Long Sleeve Gown by Gucci "55th Annual Grammy Awards" (2013)

At the 2013 Grammy Awards, Perry chose an outfit that was much more elegant and subdued than we were used to seeing her in. While the gown itself may have been sleek and simple, we’re not going to lie- this look was all about the cleavage. With everything else covered up by a floor length hem and long sleeves, all the attention was on the keyhole featured that prominently displayed the singer’s bust. Even Ellen DeGeneres was in awe of it and couldn’t look away! Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Pink Chiffon Gown by Basil Soda "51st Annual Grammy Awards" (2009) Red Velvet Dress by Dolce & Gabbana “Katy Perry: Part of Me” World Premiere (2012) Vintage Short Shorts and Halter Top Look "25th MTV Video Music Awards" (2008)

#1: Sparkly & Sheer Mini-Dress by Zuhair Murad "19th MTV Movie Awards" (2010)

Katy Perry seemed to channel a sultry Smurphette at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. The sparkling mini dress had embellishments in strategic places, but was constructed mainly with a sheer material, leaving little to the imagination. While the dress was definitely showstopping, it was the combination with Perry’s bright blue locks that really brought this outfit over the top, and made it deserving of the number one spot on our list. Her signature winged liner is a flawless addition. This outfit is quintessentially Katy, showing off her fun and irreverent side.
