A Goblin King who is beckoned to take an annoying baby brother, Jareth sings and dances his way through this musical adventure fantasy. He also teases and taunts the boy’s sister after which he reveals his love for her. However, Jareth is ultimately rejected and must return the siblings home, while left to lick his wounds. If you’ve been paying attention, though, it is painfully obvious that the Jareth we know would not wallow in self-pity for long and would undoubtedly go on to many further charismatic adventures. We envision him crafting new additions to his stronghold and finding the perfect people to test them out on. Plus, more Jareth equals more Muppets.

It is said that absolute power corrupts absolutely and President Snow’s reign on top of Panem is a testament to that phrase. As the head of a government that rules with an iron fist over the various districts of his people, he forces some to live in squalor while others consolidate wealth. Merciless and calculating, it’s shame that we only get to see him deal with the Games themselves, our heroes, and their movements. A standalone film focusing on him would allow us to see his rise to power and how he exercises his will on his fellow politicians and less successful rebellions.

These are aliens that live to hunt whatever prey poses a legitimate threat, but we’ve only seen them fight humans and Xenomorphs on occasion. What if they hunt one another? While films like the original “Predator” and the more recent “Predators” have been truly awesome, we can’t help but wonder about the stories we are missing. A film that focuses on their species rather than those they hunt has a hell of a lot of potential. We know that these hunts serve as a rite of passage, but what happens to those who fail? Do they become the new prey? Let’s see some Predator vs Predator action!

A movie that came out of nowhere to grab the attention of the film-going public, it was by and large the twist of “The Usual Suspects” that became most famous, but it was Keyser Söze’s backstory that blew us away. We still love the reveal as much as anyone, but over time and multiple viewings, it loses its edge – meanwhile, the tale of Keyser still amazes. Walking away from the police station without a trace, he claims he is going to disappear. As badass as that is, does it seem possible that a man who did the things he has could ever really blend in and never be heard from again?

Now only one half of the mind that operates the body that used to belong to the hobbit named Sméagol, Gollum is one of the most fascinating characters in this franchise. Driven to villainy based on his overpowering desire for the One Ring, he turns on the one being that tries to understand him - and turns on himself as well. Though he’s shown ever so briefly in the first film, with a standout battle against himself in the second, it’s the opening to “Return of the King” that hinted at the story we would really want to see.

Many comic book fans hold well-defined allegiances to one publisher over another. Claiming themselves to be Marvel or DC fans, they bristle at the idea that their competition has one-upped theirs. Even the truest of Marvel fans can admit, however, that The Joker is magnificent. An agent of chaos, he steals attention from the heroes we are supposed to be rooting for. So why not hand him the keys to the castle? Focusing on the Clown Prince of Crime instead of those who stand against him would allow us to revel in his greatness without rooting against him.

Whether you call him Tom Riddle, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, or Lord Voldemort, this dark wizard has made a gigantic impression on viewers worldwide. What we haven’t seen as of yet, however, is much nuance to his character - with the notable exception of his monologue during “The Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” We have zero interest in seeing a vulnerable, emotional Voldemort who cries about his childhood, but we do want to understand him more. It would be amazing to see his rise to power, the first battle against him, and his interactions with people who aren’t beholden to or terrified of him.

There was a feeling among fans that Marvel needed to move on from the Asgardian god of lies and mischief and focus on new villains. After Loki stole the show in “The Avengers,” though, he had us in his pocket. Manipulating things to his advantage at every turn while remaining fun to watch, we love every second he appears on our screen. We’d love to see him interact with some lesser heroes in an attempt to manipulate them into battle against the big boys who bested him, but the important thing is: we want more Loki!

A crime thriller that is expertly written, acted, and directed, this film is a masterpiece. But let’s face facts, the moment Anton graced our screen, this movie belonged to him. Quietly menacing in the most intriguing ways possible, he shows little emotion, which may lead you to believe we want to know more about him, but we definitely don’t. In an ideal world, his backstory could add to his mystique, but in all reality it would likely take away from it. Instead, all we want from him is a simple story that allows him to interact with more victims colorful enough to care about. Before we reveal our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. “X-Men: The Last Stand” is often considered one of the more inferior films of the franchise, so everyone rejoiced when it was written out of the continuity. Yet, when Erik Lehnsherr explains Xavier’s importance to Pyro, it’s one of his best moments. Embodying the duality of the man, we’d love to see Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen come together to portray Magneto as the angry young man and his wise old counterpart. This character committed atrocities to ensure mutant kind doesn’t fall under the destructions he saw Nazis commit in his childhood and years later did what he could to recreate his legacy.
