A heavy metal band that was “Born to Raise Hell.” Join http://www.WatchMojo.com as we count down our picks for the Top 10 Motörhead Songs. For this list, we've chosen our entries based on a combination of the artist's fans’ favorites, and their most commercially successful songs.

#10: “Bomber”

Bomber (1979) Exploding onto our list is the bombastic title track from Motorhead’s third album. The track starts right off the bat with explosive sounding guitars and drums with Lemmy’s raspy vocals following soon after. Becoming a fan favorite that is often played at the band’s live shows, “Bomber” was inspired by a novel of the same name by British author Len Deighton. The song has also been covered by grunge band Mudhoney as well as thrash metal outfit Onslaught showing the track’s impact on the rock genre.

#9: “Born to Raise Hell” feat. Ice-T and Whitfield Crane

Bastards (1994) There have been many crossovers between rock bands and rap artists, and this one is easily overlooked. Featuring Ice-T, “Born to Raise Hell” is a party anthem that gets you up and dancing around. It’s amazing to hear that Lemmy’s singing style come together with hip hop legend Ice-T and Ugly Kid Joe’s Whitfield Crane on a song that is infamously rebellious. It showcases the three artists at their most carefree, despite all the hell they are raising.

#8: “Motorhead”

The History of Motorhead

Motorhead (1977) Our next song is “Motorhead”, by Motörhead for their album Motörhead. You can’t get any more Motorhead than that, although we wish you could. Fast guitars, Lemmy’s iconic voice, and confusing lyrics that are completely ambiguous, this is truly everything that exemplifies the heavy metal gods. Being the title track on their first album they came here to prove what they were about and there was no way they would let you miss that. They hit you with everything they had and grabbed your attention from the get go.

#7: “Iron Fist”

Iron Fist (1982) When the 80’s rolled around Motorhead quickly adapted and became a force to be reckoned with and with the release of “Iron Fist”, they continued to bring the heavy. This title track starts off fast and loud not giving you any time to be prepared for what’s coming. As the name implies, the song describes a deity with an iron fist that controls anything beneath it. A classic speed metal rocker, this track is a favorite of fans and a perfect way to kick off a classic Motörhead album.

#6: “Deaf Forever”

Also in:

Heart of Jordan - Deaf Ears (Official Music Video)

Orgasmatron (1986) Despite what the title might suggest this is not a loud bombastic song about blowing out your eardrums. What it is, is a song with a marching guitar riff and violent imagery of ancient soldiers marching off to war. It’s as if Lemmy is providing the voice of the rallying cry as you hear the rest of the band yell behind him to answer his call. And who wouldn’t want to follow Lemmy into battle. All hail General Kilmister, has a nice ring to it.

#5: “(We Are) the Road Crew”

Top 20 Songs People Think Are By Someone Else

Ace of Spades (1980) Being in a famous rock band, you are going to be touring and traveling a lot. This song is an ode to that. With Motorhead’s guitars and Lemmy’s voice we are treated to a breakdown of the routine of the touring lifestyle. It also paints a picture of some of the different difficulties of traveling on the road such as road rage. Although many of us have dreamt of it, the rock star life doesn’t sound too appealing after a listen to this addicting jam.

#4: “Orgasmatron”

Orgasmatron (1986) Despite the suggestive name, "Orgasmatron" is not about what you think it is. It’s subject matter is more brutal and seems to be throwing out a bit of a political statement, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of Motorhead’s greatest. This is one of their heavier sounding songs with Lemmy’s voice deeply growling the lyrics. Although it was a step back from their original sound, “Orgasmatron” proved to be a step in the right direction as it has become one of the band’s signature tunes.

#3: “Overkill”

Also in:

Izzo Blues Coalition Overkill

Overkill (1979) One of Motorhead’s fastest songs, it mark’s the band’s foray into the speed metal genre. It perfectly took their earlier sound and refined it which helped in becoming one of the top players in the metal-genre. Being featured in some recent video games such as “SSX on Tour” and the “Guitar Hero” series, these appearances introduced the band to a whole new generation of listeners. Featuring a blistering guitar solo and some impressive drum skills, “Overkill” is one of many highlights in the band’s multi-decade career.

#2: “Killed By Death”

Top 10 Moments That Killed Musicians' Careers

No Remorse (1984) Taking our silver prize is a song that is as simple as it is aggressive. As is typical with other Motorhead songs, this exemplifies partying and not taking it easy. In fact the only time Lemmy will take it easy, is when he is, you know, “Killed By Death”. This is not one of their fastest songs, instead implying a more steady rhythm, but it still manages to be memorable and retain everything that makes Motorhead amazing. Before we unveil our top pick here are a few honorable mentions. “Hellraiser” March or Die (1992) “Damage Case” Overkill (1979) “The Game” Hammered (2002) “Line in the Sand” WWE ThemeAddict: The Music, Vol. 6 (2004) “Built for Speed” Orgasmatron (1986)

#1: “Ace of Spades”

Ace of Spades (1980) It was probably expected that this would make our number one spot, as it is Motörhead's most iconic song ever. It features everything that makes up Motörhead including the fast guitar work and Lemmy’s powerful voice. Whether or not you are a fan of this band or the metal genre in general, this is one of those songs that transcends all those arbitrary boundaries. Not only is it our number one, but it is one of the greatest metal songs of all time. Do you agree with our list? What is your favorite Motörhead song?
