Although some might write it off as another “Game of Thrones” wannabe, “Vikings” has etched out its place as one of the most epic shows of recent years. If you haven’t seen this gritty historical drama yet, keep in mind that previous seasons are currently available through Hulu and Prime Video. This will get you prepared for the second half of Season 5, which continues the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok’s sons. With a sixth season already ordered, it should be nothing but smooth sailing going forward - for viewers that is.

Barry Jenkins scored a screenwriting Academy Award for “Moonlight,” which also took home the Oscar for Best Picture. Jenkins may find himself standing on that stage once again if his follow-up film proves to be as impressive as it looks. Based on James Baldwin’s novel, “If Beale Street Could Talk” centers a pregnant young woman trying to keep it together as the father of her child is falsely accused of rape. It touches upon issues that are just as relevant now as they were in the 1970s, so expect to hear a lot about this one.
#8: “Spyro Reignited Trilogy” Release Date: November 13, 2018
Following the success of the “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy,” nostalgic gamers everywhere wondered when the “Spyro” trilogy would get its own overdue remaster. The developers and publishers heard our pleas, as the original “Spyro the Dragon,” “Ripto’s Rage,” and “Year of the Dragon” are finally making a comeback in the “Reignited Trilogy.” While still maintaining the same layout, this classic trilogy will receive a much-needed graphical makeover and newly recorded dialog with Tom Kenny voicing Spyro. This game can’t come soon enough, especially after being delayed two months.
#7: “House of Cards” – Season 6 Release Date: November 2, 2018

Speaking of delayed releases, production on “House of Cards” was stalled following the sexual misconduct allegations tied to star Kevin Spacey. Netflix made a wise decision firing Spacey and having season six wrap up this political thriller. While many people are skeptical as to how the series can work without Frank Underwood, the Season 5 finale actually perfectly set the stage for Claire Underwood to claim centerstage. Can the showrunners deliver a satisfying conclusion or will the show collapse like… well, a house of cards?
#6: “Fallout 76” Release Date: November 14, 2018
Functioning as a prequel, “Fallout 76” sports an open world that’s four times larger than the map for “Fallout 4.” This action RPG isn’t just going bigger, but also taking the series into uncharted territory with a new online multiplayer mode. Fans will be relieved to know that the game will still feature a single-player campaign, however. Set 25 years after a nuclear war, the story follows the player as they exit a fallout shelter and enter a brave new wasteland.
#5: “Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!” & “Let’s Go, Eevee!” Release Date: November 16, 2018

While we’re still waiting for the core “Pokémon” game that was promised at E3 2017, this pair of RPGs will do just fine for now. Enhanced remakes of 1998’s “Pokémon Yellow,” these games feature all 151 original Pokémon, Mega Evolved and Alolan forms included. Depending on which version you choose, players can either start their journey with Pikachu or Eevee. Building upon the innovations demonstrated in “Pokémon Go,” the Poké Ball Plus controller will also allow players to catch ‘em all like never before.
#4: “Bohemian Rhapsody” Release Date: November 2, 2018 [U.S.]
This Queen biopic had a fascinating production to say the least. After spending years in development hell, Bryan Singer signed on to direct. Due to several behind the scene problems, though, Singer was fired and replaced with Dexter Fletcher. The film also lost its long-intended star, Sacha Baron Cohen, along the way. With so many complications, can the filmmakers emerge as champions or will another one bite the dust? If the buzz surrounding Rami Malek’s performance as Freddie Mercury is any indication, we’re confident that “Bohemian Rhapsody” could still end up being magnifico.
#3: “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” Release Date: November 16, 2018 [U.S.]

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” won the Tony Award for Best Play in June 2018 and now the “Fantastic Beasts” sequel is set to make a mint at the box office. The magic of this franchise simply never runs out. Granted, “The Crimes of Grindelwald” has received some backlash due to the casting of Johnny Depp. However, the film is still sure to expand upon J. K. Rowling’s wizarding world in a satisfying way with the introductions of Jude Law as a young Albus Dumbledore and Brontis Jodorowsky as Nicolas Flamel.
#2: “Creed II” Release Date: November 21, 2018 [U.S.]
“Creed” was the spin-off/sequel nobody knew they wanted, breathing new life into the “Rocky” series while also remaining true to its roots. Due to his commitment to “Black Panther,” Ryan Coogler was unable to direct the sequel. Michael B. Jordan is back as Adonis Creed, however, this time going up against the son of Ivan Drago, who, as you might remember, killed his father in the ring over 30 years ago. Sure, the plot may sound a little contrived, but that didn’t stop its predecessor from delivering a knockout. When it was announced that a “Wreck-It Ralph” sequel was in development, we expected to just get a few more video game character cameos. Disney has opened up the floodgates for “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” though, making room for all of their major properties to pop up. With characters from Star Wars, Marvel, the Disney Princess line, and numerous others making appearances, this has the potential to be the most mind-blowing crossover of the year, which is saying a lot since we already got “Avengers: Infinity War.”
