You probably won’t have much luck ordering these drinks at your local bar, but that doesn’t mean they’re not popular! Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 fictional alcoholic beverages. For this list, we’re looking at libations from TV and movies that we’ve always wanted to try.

#10: Buzz Beer “The Drew Carey Show” (1995-2004)

Also in:

Top 10 Most Hilarious Buzz Lightyear Moments

What do you get when you mix coffee and beer together? If you’re Drew Carey, a business you can run out of your garage. Buzz Beer was the result of a brainstorming session between Drew and his friends, and eventually – instead of being a hobby – Buzz was being sold at the neighborhood bar, the Warsaw Tavern. When the coffee flavored homebrew proved to be successful, Drew sold the company to his boss. But when he realized Buzz Beer was more than just business to his buddies and was actually more of a bonding opportunity, he bought it back. Buzz Beer: the secret ingredient is friendship!

#9: Pawtucket Patriot Ale “Family Guy” (1999-2003; 2005-)

The pride of Quahog, Rhode Island, Pawtucket Patriot is the kind of beer Peter Griffin and his buddies like to knock back at the Drunken Clam. This beer was produced by the Chumbawumbas in a Willy Wonka-style brewery until the eccentric owner, Pawtucket Pat, sold the establishment. Pawtucket Patriot Ale also became the subject of a copyright lawsuit filed by another fictional beer that may appear later on this list, mirroring real life accusations that “Family Guy” borrowed heavily from “The Simpsons.” But we all know that’s not true, right?

#8: Fight Milk “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (2005-)

Also in:

Top 24 Best Movie Fight Scenes of Each Year (2000 - 2023)

If you want to have the energy to fight like a crow, this beverage is for you. Made from crow eggs, milk and booze, Fight Milk is marketed as the first alcoholic, dairy based protein drink. Seeing a lucrative opportunity on their hands, Mac and Charlie pitch this drink to a group of investors by producing a slick video – well, what they consider a slick video, anyway. Let’s put it this way: their commercial doesn’t exactly soar as high as a crow. We’ll politely pass on the Fight Milk, but we’ll take some Kitten Mittens if any are left in stock.

#7: Snake Juice “Parks and Recreation” (2009-15)

Also in:

Top 10 Snake Scenes in Movies

When the “Parks and Recreation” gang gets wasted off their asses, you can count on laughing your own ass off. To build up some buzz for his new high end, Kahlua-style liqueur, Tom invites his friends to the Snakehole Lounge to try it out. 140 proof, Snake Juice is a mix of various alcohols with sugar and coffee. It gets you pumped up for a fun night of revelry, but it leaves you with a wicked hangover the next day and maybe one or two apologies to make.

#6: Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” franchise (1978-)

According to the Hitchhiker’s Guide, this is considered the best drink in the universe, so you know it must be good. Created by ex-president of the Galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox, the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster is fairly complicated to make, and includes ingredients such as Ol’ Janx Spirit, Fallian marsh gas, and an olive. This cocktail packs quite a wallop, described in author Douglas Adams’ words “as the alcoholic equivalent of a mugging – expensive and bad for the head.” Thus, it’s advised not to have more than two at a time.

#5: Heisler Beer Various

Featured in everything from crime dramas to teen comedies to sitcoms, this gold ale quietly sits in the background of some of your favorite TV shows and movies. However, you likely never even noticed it. A generic stage prop created by Independent Studio Services, Heisler Beer has been a staple of parties, bars, and restaurants. Whether characters are playing cards or casually hanging out at home, you can often find bottles and cans of Heisler scattered across the table. If only we could find some of our own.

#4: Samuel Jackson Beer “Chappelle’s Show” (2003-06)

Also in:

Top 10 Samuel L. Jackson Kills

Hmm Hmm Bitch! This beer originates from a classic Dave Chappelle sketch, which parodies an old Samuel Adams commercial. Personally crafted by Samuel L. Jackson (portrayed here by Chappelle with all the f-bombs you’d expect), the drink is as raw and intense as the characters he plays in film. Customers who order Samuel Jackson beer must prepare for a wild night of binge drinking, or else the actor will berate them. Actually, maybe Samuel Jackson isn’t always a good decision. Relax, dude. It’s just beer.

#3: Romulan Ale “Star Trek” franchise (1966-)

There are many alcoholic drinks in the “Star Trek” universe we could’ve gone with, including Klingon Bloodwine and Synthehol, but we chose instead to go with Romulan Ale. Despite the fact that it’s illegal because of a trade embargo enacted by the Federation, several crewmembers of the Starship Enterprise have sampled the blue beverage from time to time. Dr. McCoy uses the ale medicinally, and Captain Kirk once served it at a diplomatic function, though he later regretted that decision.

#2: Butterbeer “Harry Potter” franchise (2001-11)

With the threat of Voldemort hanging over their heads, Harry Potter and his chums can take the edge off with a nice mug of Butterbeer. This drink, flavored much like butterscotch, is served at the Three Broomsticks, the Leaky Cauldron, and the Hog’s Head where it costs two sickles a bottle. Served either hot or cold, in a mug or in the bottle, Butterbeer may have a slight an intoxicating effect on humans, so watch out! If you want to make Butterbeer for your next “Harry Potter” movie marathon, look up the recipe online. Before we crack open a bottle of our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: - Android Home Brew “Red Dwarf” (1988-) - Ambrosia “Battlestar Galactica” (2004-09) - Schmitts Gay “Saturday Night Live” (1975-) - Alamo Beer “King of the Hill” (1997-2010) - Mudder’s Milk “Firefly” (2002-03)

#1: Duff Beer “The Simpsons” (1989-)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Hilary Duff Roles

As far as fake drinks go, the Flaming Moe may’ve blown us away, but we can’t get enough of that wonderful Duff. Carried in Moe’s Tavern and sold at the Kwik-E-Mart, this favorite beer of Homer Simpson is a ubiquitous part of Springfield. It even comes in many varieties, including Raspberry Duff, Duff Dry, and Tartar Control Duff. The company’s excesses in advertising and promotion are larger than life with its overzealous corporate spokesman, Duffman, and its theme park for the whole family, Duff Gardens. While it may actually be sold in the real world these days, Duff’s original status as the fake beer is enough to earn it the top spot on this list. Do you agree with our list?
