Who says the oldies can’t still rock? Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’re counting down our list for the top ten bands that have aged well. For this list, we’re looking at bands that have been successful over the span of a long career, and after many years are still making good music while retaining the majority of their original members. To qualify, bands must have released music within the past 5 years. Break ups do not disqualify a band, as long as they got back together and are still making good music.
#10: Red Hot Chili Peppers (1983-)

Kicking off our list is the rock band that created some of the funkiest jams of the 90s and still continues to rock to this day. Back then, we found their funk-punk hyperactive style very addictive, and we still do. In spite of a few line-up changes, including the semi-recent departure of guitarist John Frusciante, the Peppers continue to create incredible music. Of their recent releases, their 2006 album Stadium Arcadium won five Grammys and their follow-up I’m With You featured the instant classic “The Adventures of Raindance Maggie”.

With a career that was slow to rise, Metallica earned high praise in the mid ‘80s, and has been a staple of hard rock and metal music ever since. Still active to this day, the band’s intense and heavy attitude has been their signature, and has resulted in some of the best music to come from their genre. With classics ranging from “Master of Puppets” to “Enter Sandman”, their most recent effort, which received negative reviews, teamed the group up with Lou Reed for a spoken word album. Despite this, we are extremely optimistic for what these hard rockers will be cooking up next.

This Canadian trio has maintained a solid reputation over the years for a number of things, namely their electrifying vocals and furiously beautiful guitar and drums. They also excel at just generally being a kickass rock band. Forming in the late ‘60s, and making a name for themselves throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s, the group is still well loved today for their signature style. Rush released their most successful album 2112 in 1976, which established the band as a force to be reckoned with in the prog-rock genre. Just over 35 years later, the band released Clockwork Angels, which solidified them as legends.

This ‘80s glam rock icon is in the best shape of his life, and good thing too, because the band that takes his name shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. When it comes to the band’s signature groove, Bon Jovi has stayed completely true to their fans and themselves when delivering great music.

Classics never get old, and neither do these guys, which is why their latest release, La Futura, hit number 6 on the Billboard 200.

Making a name for themselves alongside other nineties grunge icons like Nirvana, Pearl Jam has consistently set our mellow hearts ablaze over the years. Be it by their biting guitar riffs or Eddie Vedder’s thunderous vocals, Pearl Jam has continued their legacy well into the 2010s and kept the spirit of grunge alive. Classic songs like “Even Flow” can still be found on any dedicated rockers playlist, along with the band’s new music, showing the depth and range of the bands incredible talent. A life wasted? Uniting in the UK in the ‘80s, Radiohead is one of the only bands able to call themselves both classic and contemporary. The reason for this is their incredible generation spanning cannon of music that seems to be able to rock and croon all at once. They went rock on The Bends, electronic on Kid A, and then mixed the two on In Rainbows. If that isn’t diversity then we don’t know what is.

Despite having a few lineup changes throughout the years, this group of Aussies has managed to maintain a consistent sound which has fans continuously coming back for more.
