VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
Crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. Add these to your breakfast plate and you're sure to start your day off well! Buttermilk biscuits are flaky and delicious: they can be served just as easily with jam at breakfast and tea time as with gravy for a big holiday meal. This versatile recipe can even act as the bread in a delectable sandwich. With just a few ingredients, and not much time spent in the kitchen, it's no wonder they call this a "quick bread." In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com shows you how to make Buttermilk Biscuits.

1. After preheating your oven to 400°, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. 2. Now, use a pastry cutter to cut in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. 3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and the egg. 4. Now add the buttermilk and egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir it all together with a fork until it forms a soft dough. 5. Lightly flour your hands and shape the dough into a ball. Knead that on a lightly floured surface ten times. 6. Pat your dough until it’s about ¾ inch thick, then cut the dough into rounds using a round cutter. 7. Place these on a cookie sheet that’s lined with parchment paper, and bake them in your preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
You can serve these with anything from gravy to jam, but make sure you serve them warm because that’s when they’re the flakiest!
