The ice has melted, but the cold war is far from over on Earth-like planet E.D.N 3. In the this highly anticipated sequel to Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, you will again fight for one of the several factions vying for the planet. These include the Snow Pirates and the Neo-Venus-Construction Corporation. 7 Things: Lost Planet 2 The ice may have melted, but the cold war isn’t over. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be taking a look at the 7 things you should know about Capcom’s Lost Planet 2. Number 1: The Plot The story picks-up 10 years following the events of the original game and continues to tell the tale of a humanity’s struggle to claim a replacement for the uninhabitable planet they once called home. Number 2: Location The game yet again drops you on the alien world designated E.D.N 3. However, since you last explored its vast surface it has since undergone a dramatic transformation. Now, as a result of having emerged from its ice age, the once bitter environment hosts lush jungles and a vast tropical paradise. Number 3: The Factions When starting the game, players will be able to take control of several different factions. These include the Snow Pirates, the Neo-Venus-Construction Corporation, and the indigenous Akrid insectoid species. Like before, the snow pirates are caught in the middle of a resource war and simply seek to claim a new home devoid of a destructive corporation or lethal alien force. Number 4: Customizable Characters New to the franchise, players will be able to create and customize their own characters. As players progress through the game they will be given dozens of unlockables that they may add to their avatar, including new clothing and body types. It will also let you edit your weapon models and colors in the multiplayer mode. Number 5: Gameplay Lost Planet 2 remains a third person shooter, with various new RPG elements. These include the use of experience points, which reward you for completing extra mission objectives. Like before, you will tackle gigantic enemies, extreme terrain and pilot mechanized armor suits. Fortunately, the annoying environmental drain of your thermal energy is no longer an issue unless operating machinery. Number 6: Campaign and Co-Op Players will be happy to hear that they can supplement their single player experience with 3 of their friends, or venture forth with computer controlled AI bots. Either way you decide to play, the campaign is split into six episodes, each containing their own unique story and hero, all of which will come together at the dramatic conclusion of the game. In addition, the game will feature updates of all of the previous entry’s online multiplayer modes. Number 7: Guest Characters In a surprising addition to the game, guests from several other popular video game franchises will become unlockable players. Who you can discover depends on which console you’re playing. These guests include Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago from Gears of War, Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil series, and Frank West from Dead Rising. While the first game left gamers feeling a bit cold, Capcom has promised that their hot new title will leave you feeling completely satisfied.
